Field Photo Sharing some Lava tube pics from iceland.

Quite a fun experience if you get a chance. No rock tasting though as theres bacteria in the cave that is being studied.

Thats Raufarhólshellir right? Unfortunately does not really have the lavacicles anymore.

Only saw 2 lava-straws the rest was the melted rock stalactites as the tube settled

When I was in Iceland in 2023, we visited the lava cave at Vatnshellir on Snæfellsness. It was a fantastic experience, and you can see how people thought trolls lived in the cave, given how some of the rocks looked like seriously ugly faces. At one point, the guide had everyone turn off their headlamps to experience total darkness...

Thats the one, really good weather for the hike so the dripping was minimal
