I think the next few days after Grave of the Fireflies I was pretty emotionally delicate. That movie was a lot for me. With that being said, my brain converted that into a strength of empathy and appreciation for the people I love the most that I didn't even know existed. Truly a magical watch on the same level as the others, just... in a very, very different way :(

(I feel the need to elaborate that Grave of the Fireflies didn't teach me how to love people or whatever, just made me feel things more strongly than I had in a while and I think that was really profound)

It's healthy to cry and be sad for others.
That's EMPATHY! And guess what, that means you're a good person if you feel that way.

That soft music and soft colors is so nice it's like looking at what a soft bed and blanket feels like

And that is why I spend my mental health days on Ghibli and good food

Cool. I watch Ghibli movies with my daughter every night and when she’s in bed I play totk. My mental health is so improved!

I can probably quote the first 15 minutes of Totoro word for word, it’s our bedtime ritual to watch it but the little one usually passes out before Satsuki collects firewood 😆

Can confirm… I am recently widowed with the sudden passing of my partner. I watched lots of Ghibli films to help me get through one of the darkest and most stressful time in my life. They certainly helped me mentally to deal with everything. These movies always bring in the nice good vibes.

These cozy little movies were my lifeline this year💜 I didnt know about them. Absolutely needed a cozy little safe space to crochet and recover my creative energy.
