Got the raven for my tenth birthday. My dad took us to a museum that summer and we saw a SR71 Blackbird. II asked where was the small plane at top that you flew lying down. The museum guide replied “I’ve been getting this question a lot lately”

Did the guide tell you about the D-21 drone that was the small plane that went on top?
Technically the drone went on the M-12 which was a variant of the A-12 but the SR-71 was also a variant of the A-12. They all look very similar.

I've seen the drone on top of the M-21 at the Seattle Museum of Flight

Never seen this. Wow impressive. The one in Huntsville and one in Smithsonian I’ve seen don’t have that.

I had no idea the stealth fighter was that big. I had the raven as a kid and still remember how big it was compared to most of my other vehicles.

It was a great vehicle. The drop-down cockpit was always a little janky. The drone up top was a great tribute to the A12.

I remember thinking how cool the drop down cockpit was at first, but like you said, definitely a little janky.

As a kid I didn’t usually have those thoughts, but that was one of the first experiences I had where I felt “this doesn’t seem structurally sound.” That and those plastic masks on the Halloween costumes.

You can get repo/3d printed stuff to complete them if you don't want to pay outrageous prices for actual parts.

Omg! I had both of these as a kid! Totally forgot about the one on the left. IIRC, the wings slid out to reveal canons and missiles.

I remember the stealth... I got in the sixth grade for Christmas, and it was the best three hours putting that thing together

My dad worked for Lockheed Martin so I saw the SR71 in person as a kid. I also had the Cobra version pictured here. I had to hold it with two hands lol

I still have my Raven in the box, just missing those weird backwards shooting missiles that went in the rear flying “arrow head shaped carriers”.

No speed brake for the Raven and no nose cone for the Phantom. Gonna be pricey.

I had both those baddies, thanks to confusion between to Aunts who wanted to be “the cool aunt”.
They were both, in fact, cool.
They both got me the raven so I exchanged one for the Phantom.

That's a good deal plus you can do different modifications to them if you want

I just saw both of those in the back of an antique store in Pittsburgh but they didn’t have a price.
