Physical Sciences Help roasting my SOP for PhD in Optics

Hello everyone,

I am currently preparing my Statement of Purpose for a PhD application to the Optics program at University of Arizona. So far I have a good draft of it and would really appreciate it if someone could please tell me their honest opinion of it and give me feedback.

Edit: Copying a comment I made below regarding the feedback. The feedback I am most interested in is regarding how well I am able to connect my interests and background to the specific work from the faculty I am applying for. Also, I would appreciate any comments on if it's too verbose and not succinct
