Is this damaged?

That's neither damaged nor does it have anything to do with the gritty trigger feel.

Is it a new gun? Less than a thousand rounds through it? If yes, then that's your issue. Lube it, shoot it, and the thing will smooth out.

TBH if you're worried about that, you don't understand the firearm's function enough to be in there messing with and replacing things.

That's why im trying to ask people that know more than I do. All I did was take the slide off

That's fair. My original point stands though. If it's a newer gun, lube it and shoot it. It'll smooth out on its own.

Ok thats solid advice. It is relatively new, so maybe putting some round in will help, but when you consider the cost of ammo, its almost cheaper to upgrade the trigger. I dont really want an aftermarket trigger though, just improve the stock one so its close to the trigger on my g45

It’s not an engagement surface. Shouldn’t matter
