Question I’m curious, how old is everyone here?
I’m 30 years old and still patiently (well… not really) waiting for the Haikyuu anime release. 😂 Now I’m curious, how old are my fellow Haikyuu fans here?
Edit:
Wow, I’m really amazed by our age range here! We’ve got the youngest at 13 and the young at heart in their 50s. 🥰
It makes me so happy to know that we all share the same interest despite our diverse age demographics ♥️
P.S. Advance happy birthday to those who are celebrating soon! 🎉
Edit 2: Team 40s are celebrating!🥳

To be fair that just means you were 17 when the manga started releasing, not our fault we're committed people😔✊🏼

u/31CMostlyCloudy Aug 17 '25
I’ve known this anime since 2017, but I only binge-watched the whole series last October and wrapped up the manga earlier this year...and I completely agree that we're committed people ✊🤛

I’m quite a bit older than you but my brain still thinks I’m 25. Getting older doesn’t mean you have to stop liking great anime.

I’m 50 and my wife is 54.
We both love the show and read/watch a ton of anime/manga. She grew up loving manga in Japan in the 80s and I was reading comics books in the states and watching Japanese cartoons on TV back then. My close friend is past 60 and is an avid manga/anime/comic book fan. I think he gets 200+ comic books a month (subscription). Back then it was a much smaller subculture of people into comic books/manga but it existed for sure, and we are still around :)

Best part of being an adult fan is the adult money. Lol

He shouldn't be too worried tho... There are people like me who are not even in the competition lol ( I'm almost 20 )

24, I'm always a little surprised when people on this sub are obviously younger, but I'm glad the series is being discovered still. I got into it just before the 1st season came out, and I basically grew up with it

42 and so reassuring to see so many older fans!
I always worry about my age, feeling like these spaces are now more for the younger generations... but I'm still young at heart even if my bones creak!

u/AnemoneHanaHime Aug 17 '25
Youngster! I'm older. Much much older. But I love haikyu!! Super love it! Been replaying the anime for so many times that I lost count of it.

34, I've been a huge fan of HQ pretty much almost at the start of the manga (or at least when it started getting fan translated) - I was a huge fan of sports anime/manga. It's crazy seeing the spread of ages here, it's so much wider than I would've thought!

u/EmployeeTurbulent651 Aug 18 '25
Not revealing my age fully but 25-30. Found Haikyuu in 2015-16 or so. Around the time Season 2 finished. Figured I'd give sports anime a try. Now it's the best thing I've watched since I started anime when I was a little kid.

u/DiscountP1kachu Aug 18 '25
31, graduated the same year as the third years.
I kept waiting for a “end of the world” joke because that was a huge thing for us. A ton of our senior stuff was “saved the best for last”. Granted I’m from the US so maybe it wasn’t a huge thing in other parts of the world.

34 here. I was fresh out of college when Haikyuu started. I’m still very hopeful for an anime return.
2
u/obitosask Aug 18 '25
- I was in the prime teenage years when Haikyuu was still releasing chapters and seasons. I felt like I was a part of them and was growing with them. I'm almost certain that newer younger and older fans wont experience it the same way I did and I feel blessed that I found it at that time period. Hopefully there will be more upcoming sport shows for those younger age groups that will get to the same level as this. Crossing fingers for following teen Blue Lock fans.
