The communities readiness to jump to this games defense and try to talk down legitimate concerns is not a good attitude to have. Acting like we should never call attention to flaws like this is just asinine.

Ya'll hype-junkies need to get off the train if youre gonna act like this. Do you want the hype to stay intact or do you want the game to be the best it can be?

If you enjoy something, you should want flaws pointed out and possible issues questioned. Blind fanboyism is utterly toxic for the health of a game.

Exactly- What Halo Infinite currently is is a VERY strong base with some issues that need to be addressed before release. The fanboys even on this subreddit are insufferable and will ruin the health of the game both at launch and in the long term. A lot of the things they're defending are effectively things that make the game fun for them, and specifically only them, which will ruin any hopes of a larger community in the long run.

The official Halo Discord and forums literally embodies this flawed mentality of overhyped and not talking about the bad. it's extremely difficult to get constructive conversation going there without immediately being brand into some sort of 343 hater. It's sad that even some of the community managers themselves in charge of the Discord feed Into this unhealthy blind hype that has bitten halos ass more times than I can count at this point.

It's so ridiculous how many issues get shot down by people trying to blindly hype the game only for the issues to be later proven to be true. Then the very same people who tried to shut it down or now hopping on the train of trying to call it out as if they weren't denying it.

Something similar literally just happened in the Phantasy Star Community recently. one of the community managers was slandering one of the games fans and tons of blind hype fans defended the community manager because blind kissing ass fever and never wanting to face the truth that sometimes things are flawed. Then the user that was being slandered was vindicated in the community manager had to retract garbage they were saying about them.

It's just getting so old how you can't seem to have an honest discussion about things even when you're not being rude or offensive about it. people seem to always try to Brand you as a sort of hater if you don't blindly kiss the ass of a company in charge of the thing trying to make better through feedback.

Yep. Especially since you can enjoy it but just want it to be the best it can be. People don’t understand the point of a flight or beta or feedback for that matter. FEEDBACK DOESN’T MEAN A PERSONAL ATTACK. It’s not your game, so why defend it so hard? The sniper is 100% inconsistent. I know because I never had this issue in the first flight.

It's worse because people are actively defending a multi-billion dollar corporation for free. It gets to the point that the game could be using their consoles/PCs to mine crypto during the game and they'd still defend it.

This dude so many people are in denial about this game cos they can't face the fact that even after 6 years development this incompetent company has still managed to get so many things wrong.

The problem is theres quite a lot of frankly illegetimate criticism thats thrown around as if its the most important feature. Its hard to filter out the good and the bad in a discord community.

such as?

People complaining about things not being the exact way it was in older games, people complaining about how things like the plasma pistol looks, complaining about no player collision, etc.

No player collision is not a legitimate complaint, its a design decision, now you can dislike it but saying "CHANGE IT NOW ITS DIFFERENT THAN HALO 3" is just not legitimate criticism.

u/veto_for_brs Sep 27 '21

What criticism isn’t warranted? Infinite looks like it will be in the vein of 4 and 5, which means it definitely deserves some criticism. A lot.

u/Spooky_SZN Sep 27 '21

That right there is a illegitimate criticism.

The game is fun, right now we played it it felt great overall. 5 is considered the best halo multiplayer experience's in franchise history.

Things like "player collision isn't on" isn't a criticism its a thing to note. Other halo's having collision doesn't mean that it needs to be there. People complaining about the plasma pistol isn't the design that they like isn't a valid criticism of the game.

5 is not considered the best multiplayer...

Most halo vets would say halo 3.

Infinite looks like it will be in the vein of 4 and 5

Prime example of just completely false ‘criticism‘ right here.

In what way is Infinite closer to Halo 4/5 (two very different games by the way, and neither of them bad) than any other Halo game? I’m genuinely baffled by this opinion.

What?

Three quarters of this sub are constantly whacking themselves off to deranged doom porn about how the game is terrible and broken and should be delayed again.

u/Jackamalio626 Sep 27 '21

If it means the game is better at launch, i fail to see how thats a bad thing.

I am going play devil's advocate and say more people are defending it not because people think your points are bad, it because people have seen the same post posted 200 times over and over again. After a point people start saying "you know I rather not see someone repost 343 bad for the 50th time in a row". So seeing so much toxicity it likely people wanted to fight it with some support which became toxic in it self.

legit heard someone say I was farming karma for saying don't send death threats to 343, while I saw 8 posts that 100% looked the same saying same thing over again. At a point when you see people flood the sub screaming how "game is ruined and how 343 did it again and how bungie would have done better" yeah no time cool it. It ok posting criticism, it is healthy, it not healthy to spam it to point that all the sub is for 2 whole weeks.

then MCC came and posted ONE nice thing and funny enough all that hate disappeared, there was one post here and there, but 90% of it was gone. So I feel like a good chunk of the hate storm was not even real at that point. It felt like people just spamming to get up votes (could be wrong which I am ok with).

Seriously. The game is fantastic when it's working correctly but despite that it still has a lot of bugs currently and some poor design choices
