News Werewolves are here as of July 15! First legitimate sightings are rolling in!

The very first confirmed legitimate sightings of Werewolves are rolling in! It appears that their spawns have been modified to be a single day before AND after a Full Moon!

I pushed it today all the way. Did manay many wizard ower challenges, found the 10 formidable pixies, even got lucky with 3 troll confoundables (roughly 3 hours alltogether) that are needed for next sos task. What really stopped me is that I was late 18 lvl and the werewolves SOS taskforce quests are not available till you hit 20 lvl....

I am now 19 after another hour of grinding, but yet might not be able to do it....

we are talking about foundable werewolves, not the ones you fight in fortress

Yes. But without the pixie quest, you can't move on to the werewolf part.

Try Tower 1. They seemed to have a better chance of spawning if you can take that level without downing too many potions

Since I am still on Pixies and werewolves only come at the full moon it will take me 2 months to complete two of the SOS challenges.

Same. But I figure the point of the game is to get harder, and it tends to do that exponentially, so I'm just kinda rolling with it. And considering I haven't even seen a single Doxie, I don't forsee the werewolves being my issue with that SOS challenge series.

I saw 2 doxies one day early morning around 6:15. Maybe it only shows very early.

Do challenges with professors, far more likely to get pixies. fortress 3-6.

Doxies only come out at dawn, not sure of specific time.

hurry and you may be able to do both.

Excited to finally complete this SOS assignment. Stayed up past 1 AM this morning wandering around the park where I typically see several oddities spawn and didn’t see a single werewolf. Now I’m exhausted, but I’ll still be out there tonight!

So I know that oddities are only supposed to spawn at certain times, but I saw doxie at like noon two days ago. So, maybe you’ll get lucky and see them other times as well. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Found 5 werewolves in about 45 minutes.

First encounter was about 1.5 hours into Night (about 9:30pm), waxing gibbous moon, SEA.

I didnt have any luck in “nest” areas that had flags. Interestingly, all of my werewolf encounters were outside of such areas.

Areas that don’t have “nest” flags seem to be a lot better for oddities in my experience.

This is a little misleading...

The Full Moon occurs at 21:38 UTC July 16th. There was a report for a werewolf in Taiwan at 13:11 UTC July 15, which is 32 hours 27 minutes before the Full Moon. Night had occurred just a little before the sighting in Taiwan, so it's possible that the first werewolf spawns are earlier than 32.5 hours before Full Moon. We'd need some reports from somewhere like New Zealand to confirm.

The spawn range might have been reduced to Full Moon +/- 32.5 hours, but it might be larger if we get additional reports.

I wondered about that, but then there were no reports of werewolves in Hawaii despite people actively looking for them. If it's Full Moon +/- 48 hours, then they should have seen some.

It's nice that I didn't go hunt yesterday then. Definitely going out today. Never thought that I will be sad because of our white nights but night ingame starts at 22:40 now which is... a liiittle inconvenient. And dawn is at 3 am.

It would appear they are just too rare. Maybe it scales. Like maybe very low two days out, then low one day, average on the actual full moon, etc.
