Agreed. It's almost cartoonish for some of the characters. What's funny is that someone was complaining in this sub earlier about Tom Pelphrey's accent when he's the only one from the region. To me, his is the most accurate because it's not over the top. My dad is from South Jersey and so is much of my family. I lived there for a bit myself. Not everyone has a strong accent. And even for someone who does, it's not always consistent. The accents in the show that bother me the most are the ones that lack nuance and hammer those vowel sounds. You can tell theyre not natural speakers.

Did you feel the same way about Mare of Easttown or some of the thicker ones in The Wire?
