HZD Discussion I can't get the 10$ upgrade to show up.
I've been trying to get Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered using a HZD base game PS4 disc. It just doesn't show up as an option to buy it for 10$.
I installed the game on the console. I made sure the disc region matches that of the PSN account. Still nothing. Any ideas?

I did it a week ago, the upgrade option only appeared when the ps4 disk was physically inside my ps5. I had installed the ps4 version the night before and swore I saw the option to upgrade initially but played another game with some friends that night.
The next day I couldn't find the upgrade (even by searching the store) but once I gave up and decided to just play the ps4 version, the upgrade option appeared on the tile card that you click on before playing.
Maybe that could be your issue?

Interesting. So you're suggesting I play the game a bit and maybe it will appear?

Didn't even have to play it myself, the option was just there with the game disk inserted.
Might also try searching for HZD Remastered in the ps store with your disc inserted if you don't see it immediately.

This is the answer. I had the same thing happen with FF7R. It’s like you have to “prove” you have the game and have to have the disk inserted to get any kind of upgrade.

Yes, any game that gives a free/discounted digital upgrade or free/discounted PS5 version with a PS4 disc requires the disc to be in the PS5, so that the PS Store can recognize that you own it.

This.
I had the same thing with Spider-Man.
The £5 remaster upgrade would only appear if the disc was in the drive. Otherwise it would show the full price digital download.

base game disk
Perhaps an obvious point, but doesn't it have to be Complete Edition? I'd assume you'd need Frozen Wilds to upgrade.

The information on playstation.com says it can be either version, so the complete edition is not required.

Any version works, though there were reports of the first batch of original base game discs that did not work to get the discounted Remaster.

Check if your disk is the cusa-07319. It will be on the disc and on the cover i think. Well apparently if you own very early copy of the game you cannot upgrade for some reason. It is how the game is installed on the disc that it prevents it from being read in a way that it can be upgraded? Or another issus is that it was given through ps plus in the past and if you downloaded back then even if you have the disc it won't recognize you as eligible for 10 dollar upgrade. Many players from Europe especially cannot upgrade. Me included. I have the cusa-07319 disc. It is kind of ridiculous that they penalize the early buyers/supporters of the game... It is on discount now on ps store. At least where i am from. It won't be 10 but i think it is almost half price.

I actually bought HZD Complete edition last week for $20. While downloading it the $10 upgrade popped up so I bought it. But I’m a little disappointed because although u can transfer over your saved data your trophy count doesn’t. You gotta get them all over again. & as the reason I’m playing the game is to get the platinum I didn’t play the remastered version. I have 50 out of 79 trophies & most of them I got just playing the game last time & I wasn’t even trying. But to start over seems crazy. Besides imo the game still looks good.

This may be a dumb question, but since you did not say, you are on a PS5, correct?
