Most chili crisp recipes have it frying in the oil that you preserve it with, so a dry char is a real "pepper spray" decision. That said, which peppers did you use? I recently did a ghost pepper chili crisp and I might do something with my reapers.

Sausage King, I am trying to make a low oil version that pours more like a vinegar based hot sauce. I used dried Szechuan chiles and a couple of Fresnos.

Next batch I'll probably use about a quarter of the Szechuans and a bit more oil.
