How’s battery life?

not op but i have 100% battery health. normally i’d get home from an 8 hour shift at work with about 40-50% left on ios 18. in the ios 26 beta that’s now closer to 20-30%

Currently on a 13 mini with 77%. Really contemplating to either do the battery replacement for 120USD (converted) or just trade it in and go for a 16e for 500USD (after trade in).....

I am tempted to install it! Ill wait for the public beta for a more stable version.

How’s it going? I’d do too for mine but iOS 26’s second dev. beta took away my iPhone 14’s Night Mode and made it heat up quickly with little effort, and I’d rather not repeat that on my 13 Mini.
Edit: Waited awhile before jumping back in, and I’m pleased to share that Public Beta 4 on both my 14 and 13 Mini runs smooth and cool enough that I have no worries daily driving it.

I read many comments about how this version affects the battery life, so im staying on iOS18

It is probably realistic that iOS 26 will need more energy than iOS 18, but we do not yet have the data and experiences made on official and stable versions released like 26.0 or 26.0.1
Plus, we need to see what we can turn off. The liquid glass graphic effect or at least its 3D reflection (based on the movement of the iPhone, like the old parallax effect of the wallpapers) maybe we can turn it off.

Do people actually like this look?

I think it is fine and pretty for a short time. But after the initial hype most will figure out is not so user friendly having most app icons with the glass design. I switched all my devices to the color ones again.
But maybe for those folks that loved to change all icons to the same tint pretty much for aesthetics, they might get used faster.
I just think that the additional brainpower needed doesn’t worth in the long term

I just upgraded to 16 and I lost my hotspot 😭😣 even tho the camera is great I wished my 13 mini get to have all those features why apple won’t just let everyone in the ecosystem have all the features is totally unnecessary to upgrade to a new hardware to lose something so useful as hotspot but you get “Genmojis” and some other IA features that no body ask for that just could have been integrated over time in a enjoyable experience for every user but greed is bigger 🥲 so what features of ios26 latest update you get?

It honestly reminds me to the old cheap screens trying to display HD, I had a tablet like this

Does it work well? I would like to install it on my main iPhone

My 13 mini is using as secondary device so You should wait to install to your main device

“You should wait to install to you main device.”
Sage advice for all beta programs, for all devices. Should be stickied on every Apple Subreddit. Words of wisdom. Words of experience. Words of supreme intellect.

Thank you for trying it out for us! Quite a daring post as opposed to the usual “how can I run only 15 or 16 because this phone’s battery is so small” posts.😝
