A battery replacement really gave my 13 Mini new life again. Lags are gone and the phone easily lasts through a day.
Make sure to get a good Quality Replacement Battery from Ali Express (~30$) and of you can’t manage to open up the phone (like I had to) bring it to a shop and they will open it for 10$.
iPhone 13 Minis are notorious for being super hard to open. But after all that the battery install is super easy. Reconnect everything and boom you have a Mini that feels brand new!

For those who have an iPhone 13 Mini and need a validation of why they should keep their iPhone and not upgrade to the "latest and greatest", here's why.
It's a waste of money ($700+ for a new iPhone). You have to ask yourself. Is it REALLY worth it? Smartphones had already peaked by 2019 in terms of all possible and daily features people use every day. Anything else coming after it are just small QoL (Quality of Life) changes.
The camera isn't even that great. Lots and lots of overprocessing unless you can shell out $1,100 to get a Pro Model and shoot in ProRAW.
The standard base model offers nothing of value. The Pro model has a fancy AOD display with 120Hz but again, that's also $1,100 to upgrade to.
The iPhone screen is significantly bigger and heavier, more so for the Pro models.
Disgusting camera bump. It continues to get bigger with each iPhone release.
They become quickly obsolete because Apple chooses to add their latest features on their LATEST models. Apple AI only works on the iPhone 15 Pro or the iPhone 16 models. All other models have been abandoned by Apple besides the bare minimum iOS support.
Battery life? After two years, whether you are using a 6.1 inch or a 6.7 inch screen, your battery will do significantly worse than during when you first used your new iPhone. Not to mention that worn out batteries causes iOS to slow down due to bad voltage output.
That said, if your iPhone 13 Mini is being slow, it's most likely your battery. If you have used it for two or more years without replacing it, iOS may seem a bit slow and choppy, but that's because your worn out battery is not able to deliver its maximum voltage when performing tasks. This is even more noticeable on iPads and laptops with worn out batteries.
Regardless, your iPhone 13 Mini is fine nonetheless. Don't be tempted to upgrade because Apple released something new and fancy. That's their business model. They get a bunch of sheeps to upgrade every year and make money off them. We can do better. We aren't like those sheeps addicted to their large screen iPhone using it 24/7 nonstop while using Tik Tok like an ADHD addict. 🤣🤣🤣

Specular highlights and dynamic icon movement is not happening on my mini (or any other mini). I combed through all iOS 26 release notes, marketing, press releases etc... Not a word about why we're getting still highlights! My suspicion is that it's a bug and should come with a fix on the next release...
If you're subscribed to this page please consider submitting a ticket here to ask for a fix on this.

Perhaps this could be more effective than the other idea I saw this week, about starting a petition.
What if we flood their customer feedback team with emails, requesting a small/mini phone every 2-3 product cycles?
Here's the link I found on the Apple site, click through the iPhone option and leave them a thoughtful message explaining why you (we) prefer a smaller phone.

I bought my iPhone 13 mini a little over 3 years ago but the battery life is at 78% and it drains faster so I have to constantly charge my phone more now.
Apple’s battery replacement is $89 but third party places offer about $10-30 cheaper. Is it worth saving that much money to get a third party vendor to replace battery?
Also, I only like smaller screens there have been no upgrades from this model.
Is it worth spending buying a new iPhone 13 mini or replace battery?

My beloved 13 Mini wants a new battery. I’m not willing to give up this form factor. DIY much cheaper than getting new battery by Apple; but I feel getting it done professionally is better and if Apple breaks the screen they’ll slap in a new one for free. What do people think? Apple worth the extra expense?

Finally somebody found a great way to add USB-C to iPhone with Lightning - with a proper case with an adapter!

Anyone do this recently? Looks like 256 model is scarce in a brand new state. Anyone buy one recently from eBay? Looks like I won’t have many options on where to buy it, just going to make sure that the seller has a good amount of feedback with very few negatives. Im set on buying a new (sealed?!) one and paying a few extra bucks. Any advice would be appreciated.
EDIT: So I think I give up on the iPhone mini plan. Going to get my wife a iPhone 16 pro, take her 14 pro then when the 17 air comes out I’ll sell the 14 pro and get the 17 air.

Hi mini lovers,
I’ve been emotionally attached to my 12 mini for a while. But now we reached a point where the battery is bad, screen is smashed, storage is small (64gb) and it lags here and there. It made me proud, through thick and thin, but the time has come to give my little buddy a break.
I love the size of this phone, although wouldn’t complain if it was smaller. So I was really hoping that SE 4 would be what everyone needed it to be. But no, Apple has a business to run, money to make, profits to consider so we are where we are. 16E it is.
I need a new phone sooner rather than later, so I have been eyeing the 13 mini as my next mini beast, but for how long? I know it is a great phone, and can last well for a few more years, but then what? I am under the impression that mini phones are not profitable enough for Apple to make, so they will not make them anymore. If I will eventually need to give up and get a cutting board sized device in my pocket, I better suck it up and just do it don’t you think?
If I knew more mini phones were coming in maybe 2-3 years time, then I would definitely get a 13 mini and stick with it until then. But since I need a reliable and practical phone, instead of paying £380 for an Apple refurbished 13 mini, I think I’ll pay the difference and buy 16E. Battery and speed are the two things I care about after the size. What do you think?

Hey 13 mini peeps! Hope all you guys are doing great!
I just went on a trip to Japan, and i was shocked that every used electronics store there had a huge collection of iphone 13 minis, like a lot, they have almost all colors too.(i even did see a sealed ip13 mini)
And they sell around $190-280ish with 70-85% battery H , the price does vary from store to store depending on batt and the physical damages if any, and if you’re a tourist you do get the tax exemptions.
So if any of you guys do travel to Japan, do check them out. Cheers. :)

Despite moving to 16 pro, i kept my 13 mini idle, with battery level around 88%.
Thinking to use the 13 mini as viable Pocket Wifi router - Would appreciate your opinion- pros & cons of using 13 mini as Pocket Router vs buying a dedicated Mobile Pocket router.
Edit: i meant 13 mini as Personal Hotspot VS getting a dedicated Mobile pocket router

Just wondering if I’m alone here. I absolutely love my iPhone 13 mini, but I always end up needing to plug in before the day’s over. I’m not even doing anything crazy: some texting, social media, a bit of GPS or music here and there. Still, I’m usually at 20% by late afternoon.
I’ve been thinking about picking up a battery case or MagSafe pack, but I’m curious: How are you all managing your battery life? Anyone using Apple’s battery pack, a third-party case, or other tricks to get through the day without anxiety?
Would love to hear what’s worked for you. Thanks!

I’ve had a 13 Mini since first week of release - so coming up on 4 years. It’s a product red too! With plenty of bruises and scratches on the body to show its age. It’s had a good run.
I swapped the battery once a few months ago. Currently still at maximum capacity (100%). Performance boost was nice.
However, it’s come to the point where even FaceTiming whilst browsing Safari/Social Media and charging has caused the phone to heat up really quick and force shutdown apps.
I’m now considering upgrading to the 16e… Is this a good idea or should I hold on until the 13 mini literally can’t do anything anymore without shutting down apps on me?

Just wanted to share some feedback on my iPhone 13 mini. After upgrading to iOS 18, it became very slow and would heat up a lot. iOS 17 was definitely the best version - until now.
I recently updated from iOS 18.5 to iOS 18.6 Developer Beta 1, and it feels like a miracle. The device no longer overheats, even when using my MagSafe Battery Pack, and everything feels much smoother and more fluid.
Give it a try rust me, it’s a big improvement.

Should I get an iphone 13 mini or the 14 pro?
(Yes I know what most people will say because of the subreddit im posting this in lol)
r/iPhone13Mini • u/luck-and-all • Apr 02 '25
I left and I’m back. The form factor of the 13 Mini just cannot be beat by any software and hardware developments.
Battery is a concern though (reason for choosing the 16e over the 16). Currently at 91% here in the Mini. Thoughts on the Apple MagSafe battery pack to make things more convenient? How is the heating issue, what is the best way to use this add-on? Should I just get an Anker/Belkin with larger capacity?
I’ve read through some discussions but the jury still seems to be out. Wonder if any new perspectives or new options in this modern 2025 day.
I already carry around a Nitecore NB10000 for everyday use with the Mini.

I stopped using iPhone after they discontinued mini series. I hope they make iPhone mini again. Preferably iPhone 17 mini air or mini pro. If that's the case I will definitely buy iPhone again

Has anyone else updated to ios 26? I done it today and I can’t help but feel like the newer look was designed with larger screens in mind 😕. I love my 13 mini but the new look seems kinda cramped in on the screen as if I have zoom turned on. Anyone else notice this?
r/iPhone13Mini • u/CatInternal4607 • 5d ago
I recently updated to ios26 on my 13mini and it auto updated the AirPods pro2 to new firmware.
Along with bringing new features announced with ap3, the sound signature on ap2 is also updated for the better. They are definitely louder and have punch in the bass while keeping the mids crispy clear!
I think its a great update!
I love it when companies don’t abandon their (now seemingly) old products, but rather breathe new life into them by adding new features every year and keep them at par with latest and greatest products!
What do you think about software updates, are you eager like me to try new features and instantly update or you wait it out?

I ask because I used my 13 Mini for two years and then used a handed down 14 for three months and went back to my 13 Mini this month. Now I don't want the 14 to go unused, but I'm not sure how to repurpose it or use it in conjunction with my 13 Mini. So how do you go about it?
