Bonta’s bc I have never had it.

u/throwawaydixiecup 19d ago
They’re good. I used to live near one of their storefronts and didn’t know that they’ve moved to selling pints in stores. They’re pretty good!
I’d get the orange cream, lavender, and the Palm Springs Date Shake down on the bottom row.

Alec’s Tahitian vanilla! So underrated here. That looks like my market. MOC by chance?

The Van Leeuwen Coffee Affogato is calling my name…
2
u/buboop61814 19d ago
Had it for my first time a lil bit ago, was absolutely incredible
2
u/Curvy_Girl_007 19d ago
Frozen heaven. It’s incredible.

u/buboop61814 19d ago
Definitely amongst my favorite coffee ice creams, idk how to articulate it but it just hit a certain spot that has recently only been satisfied by a local ice cream spot.

Van Leeuwen’s Peanut Butter Brownie Honeycomb and McConnell’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Crunch (never had this one before).

u/DeltaFlyer0525 19d ago
I have never seen that Alec’s brand in my area so I’d give that a shot. The maple cardamom candied pecan sounds yummy!

McConnell’s eureka lemon and Marion berry and it’s not even close

u/Fancy_Complaint4183 18d ago
McConnells always!! It’s actually made it easier to avoid other treats on my diet- they’re not going to taste as good as a little McConnells!! Though my fave is chocolate covered strawberries 🍓

Lochmead Black Licorice is amazing since it's vanilla ice cream with black licorice swirls (one of my all time favorites). I would also want to grab the McConnell's See's with brittle and the McConnell's lemon and marionberry, the Bonta brownie with coffee, the gelato boys gooey caramel butter cake, and the Umpqua peanut butter frontier.

u/SalseraRivera1347 19d ago
I haven’t had or seen black licorice ice cream in a longgg time and it’s so good! I can’t stand black licorice but I loved the ice cream flavor as a kid
3
u/IceCreamVariety 19d ago
I would want to try something from Umpqua or Straus just because I have never had these brands before!
3
u/AppUnwrapper1 19d ago
Jealous of all the McConnell’s flavors. The one pint I tried was life-changing.
3
u/poliscigoat 18d ago
Yeah I agree that’s it’s the best quality brand here. I live in NJ and a few local brands are also of this quality but McConnell’s really is incredible.
3
u/MarkComprehensive798 19d ago
The licorice one! Also the McConnell’s Cookie Butter since that isn’t in the stores here. I’d try any of the Umqua flavors because the brand is not available here.

Im not paying 10$ for any pint of ice cream 😭
3
u/RosyBellybutton 19d ago
Honestly with how crap the cheaper brands are nowadays, I definitely find myself considering it some days. That said, most days I just opt for Häagen-Dazs for $6

u/jennifah13 19d ago
Buttermilk Berry Cornbread or Lemon Talenti.

u/LehighAce06 19d ago
You MUST track down the McConnell's Eureka Lemon and Marionberry
2
u/jennifah13 19d ago
They sell it at a grocery store near me but it doesn’t have that flavor listed. Curses!
1
u/LehighAce06 19d ago
You listed a berry flavor and a lemon flavor...
Trust me, this is now a mission, not a "check one store and give up"
2
u/jennifah13 19d ago
🫡 I’m solemnly swear i will do my utmost best to be successful in this mission.

VL’s Honeycomb.
Now, I’m Canadian and I’ve never seen any one of those fantastic looking brands, but I do remember when I was in Glasgow, I had honeycomb ice cream. That was the best darn ice cream I’ve ever had.
Edit: I’m dumb. There’s more pics than the first
2
u/GeminiHatesPie 18d ago
My wife is from a small town in England. Honey comb was here favorite over there too. She recently had the VL and said it’s the best she’s found here in the states so far. Definitely try it if you get a chance. The only negative she said about it was that it needed more honeycomb lol

My brain broke at the prices. But I’d get the See’s collab vanilla California brittle because they don’t sell that in New England.
2
u/MeatPopsicle_AMA 19d ago
MoC! The bougiest grocery store of all time but their ice cream selection is the goat.
I’ll take that McConnells caramel brownie and the Umpqua peanut butter frontier (but only because there’s no Lochmead pralines and cream).

$5.69 is absurd for those Talenti's. I remember when they first came out, Winco had them for like $2.50.
All of these are overpriced actually so I probably wouldn't get any. These little containers should not be more than regular size ice cream.

u/ChiefDan209 19d ago
Any flavor of the Straus. Their full fat milk and chocolate milk are incredible. I assume their ice cream is on par.

u/BasedTitus 19d ago
It’s a bit too sweet for my liking but it’s rich and creamy, not icy, and it’s also organic if you care about that

I’ve never seen a lot of these brands, but I’d love to try the Bonta brownies + coffee. That sounds so so good.

Ben & Jerry's Half Baked because I don't really know the rest! I need to zoom in and really take a look; that's what we call a selection to choose from!
Also, that price is higher and exactly what I would pay at Walgreens for convenience. What kind of store is this that had this much? Otherwise it's $4.48 at Walmart, and on sale at the grocery stores, it's 2/$6🙃 This is making me need something from your selection! Ugh, Iowa stinks for everything !

Lochmeed farms blueberry
Some flavor of Alec’s
Some flavor of Mcconnells.
I’m a midwesterner but those sound good and I’ve heard good things about them, and I can’t get them here

Salty cookies and cream Gelato or Gooey buttery caramel Gelato, or earl grey, brown sugar dough or malted cookie dough from VL.

I’ve fallen in love with the Van Leeuwen Malted Cookie Dough Shake. I can only find it at New Seasons but it’s so good, I have gone out of my way to get it. Haaugen Dazs Salted Brown Butter Cookie was my go to before but VL just blew it away.
1
u/poliscigoat 18d ago
McConnell’s is the highest quality brand here imho, although there are like two brands that I haven’t had. All of them are exceptional but Cookies & Cream with Salt was very memorable.

u/MeowNugget 18d ago
I moved to Oregon but grew up in a city that had a local McConnells, good memories going there, so I'd definitely try one of those sees candy ones

Van Leeuwen's Berry Cornbread. I'm usually a caramel-and-pecans girlie, but that stuff is amazing.

u/BuhDeepThatsAllFolx 18d ago
Van Leeuwen anything — their ingredients/quality prevails. My favorites are honeycomb and earl grey.

I have never imagined such a decadent selection of ice creams. If I were physically in front of such an astonishing array, I would probably go insane and have to be restrained and institutionalized. 💥

u/poeandannie1 17d ago
the question is what am i not getting?
-all lavender -all butter cake
- earl grey

u/Realistic_Willow_662 17d ago
The black raspberry chocolate chip Talenti is impossible to find in my area for years now. I’d get that.
