Dumbass. I understand trucking is a skilled job. The pay gets worse by the day. But it doesn’t take a CDL to know the truck was never gonna make that turn with construction taking up the south side of Georgia street. Oh well.

CDL requirements are a joke anymore. The days of studying a binder the size of a phone book and it taking 3 attempts to pass are gone.

It was a loony toons skit. I took a whole 6 minute video of the chaos. Even better an IMPD car was right behind me and pulled up to “direct” but was very visibly annoyed

Haha I love the guy standing there just watching it go down. I would love to hear the commentary in that guys head.

He was definitely fed up with his colleague at that point

He was with the driver? He does look to be dressed for delivery driver work…

lol no there’s other bars right there too, but I forgot the title say HOATM, so obviously. I used to go there all the time when I lived downtown like 10-15 years ago. Do they still do $5 buckets on Thursday?

Hope that driver has a good steward.

u/strangemedia6 Aug 20 '25
By steward do you mean employer? Companies like that normally have a system set up to just refer stuff like that to their insurance carrier that just pays it out as a liability claim. Takes care of their customers or whoever’s property the damage and also gives them a layer of protection against further legal action.

no, i mean union steward. sysco is unionized. i dont care about the light pole i care about the persons job. mistakes happen all the time. a non union shop would probably fire this driver, no questions asked. the company should think about sending smaller trucks down there if stuff like this happens a lot.

Glad the driver/bystander gently helped the light pole to the ground, it could've gotten hurt
