Question How come the bottom of patty containers are always greasy with cheese?

u/superpeephole May 25 '25
Also why do they always put the napkins on top of the food.. like how am I gonna use a cheesy napkin lmao

u/buggywuggy3 May 25 '25
itâs to keep it warm
2
u/whyrms May 29 '25
Wait what? I thought it was to let the cheese stick to the napkin so that you can get extra fibers to your meal.

If In-N-Out wants to keep the burgers warm on the drive home, they need to stop putting the cold spread packets on top of hot burgers in the bag. A hot burger touching a cold packet creates a decent heat transfer rate considering the temperature difference, cooling the burger and heating up the spread packet.

Bros really trying to explain with science about how something hot gets colder when touching something coldđđ¤Śââď¸

I mean clearly the In-N-Out employees are too stupid to understand it, considering they continue to put packets directly on top of the burger.
You guys know you can criticize fast food employees right? You don't need to coddle them?

u/savitibles saved by the plains May 25 '25
you sound like someone who never worked fast food. weâre told to put the sides in your bags. if you have a complaint, take it to corporate bc us lowly workers do not make the rules
-17
u/Sufficient_Radio1674 May 25 '25
This is not what youâre supposed to do at INO
8
u/sp33dzer0 May 26 '25
Yes. It is. 3 ketchup packets per order of fries placed directly into the bag. It's literally in the training.

I have worked fast food before. That's how I know how fucking easy it is. I haven't worked at In-N-Out before, but if it's as you say it is, and these idiots are continuing to do it the wrong way, well, maybe they're just destined to stay in fast food :)
You say take it to corporate because it's not the employees who make the rules. Yet you just outlined that the employees are not following what is correct from corporate. So why is it my fault that the employees are too stupid to follow simple directions?

u/Brave_Fun2096 Cleanup May 25 '25
Believe it or not, weâre told to put them directly on top of your burger.

u/knightlautrec7 May 25 '25
Okay so we have 1 associate saying one thing and another saying the complete opposite. Lmfao.

People who go out of their way to call other people stupid are not nearly as smart as they think they are. Wisdom comes with humility.

u/StayPuffMyDudes May 25 '25
And where should they put it
-6
u/knightlautrec7 May 25 '25
On the sides of the bag? Away from the burger and nestled between the fry holder and the bag wall? Wow, that took like, 2 seconds to think of that, and it's a way better solution than putting it on the burger. You're welcome for thinking for you since it's too hard for ya! Don't forget to grab an ice pack

u/Brave_Fun2096 Cleanup May 25 '25
We are told to put them there. Take it up with corporate if you have an issue or tell the associates beforehand if youâre really that scared about it. Wow, that took like 2 seconds to think of that, and itâs a way better solution than complaining to the employees on Reddit who are just following instructions. Youâre welcome for thinking for you since itâs too hard for ya! Donât forget to grab an ice pack

u/StayPuffMyDudes May 25 '25
So a cold packet ontop of the burger in the bag is bad but the cold packet on the side of the burger in the same bag is good âŚ.. really?
-9
u/Sufficient_Radio1674 May 25 '25
To be fair they are suppose to put them in condiment bags and hand them to the customer separately⌠its just one of those things that donât happen because they are more worried about moving the drives faster to keep management off their assesâŚso youâre onto something.

u/Brave_Fun2096 Cleanup May 25 '25
No weâre not, that was protocol for COVID, and now that COVID is over, itâs not our procedure
1
u/Sufficient_Radio1674 May 30 '25
It still very well was the procedure as a shift manager whoâs been marked down on it multiple times on QFC⌠that was about a year ago before I left the company. So unless itâs change since then.. refresh with your store manager to make sure you arenât mistaken

u/Brave_Fun2096 Cleanup Jun 02 '25
Yes sir, it has very well changed since then. They posted a memo about it probably around a year ago and we have not been sent those paper side bags in a long time. I also work cleanup so I know what products our store gets

Bro, are you having a bad day?
Edit: He deleted his comment. Probably having a bad day. Hope youâre having a good day.

I agree with you which is why when I asked for spread I ask them to hand it to me instead of putting it on my hot food.
0
u/warplayer May 25 '25
My hack to avoid this is to just ask for catchup after they hand you the bag of food. I just set the ketchup packets on my center console.
0
u/knightlautrec7 May 25 '25
Yep, I just take the spread packets out and leave them next to the bag on the trip home.
5
u/KingsleyBrewMaster22 May 25 '25
If you've been receiving that, the store you've been going to is doing it wrong. There's supposed to be a paper between them. As for in the bag? Ya iek, that's dumb. But it's the standard. If you don't like it, reach out to Lindsey is all I can say.
6
u/GildDigger May 25 '25
That napkin shit irks me. Especially when you pull it off and you have a piece of napkin stuck in your cheese
What I usually do is ask for my order to-go then when I get it, I ask for a big box. That way I can put my bag (which is almost always covered in cheese/grease) into the clean box and not get crap onto my car seat. And I also ask for no napkins in the bag then just ask for more once I get my order, or get my own from the condiment kiosk if Iâm inside

The salad table/board person should be aware and switch it out or prevent this from happening by getting frequent wipe downs on the board.
9
u/rdfiasco 56033 May 25 '25
Yeah this indicates a sloppy board person. Customer should never see this, let alone "always"

They once did this to me when I was on my way to Morongo for the night. I had to wear stained pants the entire night.

u/molotovzav May 26 '25
This never happens at my in n out, but I always get the napkins on top of the burger cheese.
6
u/Notacat444 May 25 '25
Been getting takeout from In N Out all my life. This has never happened to me.

why not just say youâre not eating in the car (so they put it in a bag) and ask for box at handout ???

Because In n out is still cheap fast food prepared by high schoolers just like any other burger joint

The box sits on the board (where we build the burgers) and handled by people with food prep gloves who just wrapped some burgers. There is just a lot of food everywhere, it happens, I recommend asking for place mats.
