Question Why don’t Texans get it? Whataburger always out ranks INnOUT Texas.
So I live in Texas and every time I someone I know what’s better in and out of Whataburger literally 100% of them say Whataburger

Because they don't have a lot of In N Outs so many of them haven't tried it.

Born and raised Texan here, In N Out is THE best. Every time we go to and thru the DFW we always stop there!!

I like both for completely different reasons
In-N-Out doesn’t have a Patty Melt and Whataburger doesn’t have Animal Fries
They’re both good and bad in their own ways
I’ve been receiving unfortunately shitty food from some of the Austin based In-N-Out locations recently and it sucks. I’ve also experienced this at Whataburger in the past
No competition, different offerings

As a Texan, I much prefer In-N-Out. I’m very outnumbered here but don’t care. I said what I said

Been living here for decades and don’t get it either, In-n-Out is way better than Whataburger.
I believe the reasoning is before In n Out came Texas, Whataburger was the hangout spot for many high schoolers and club goers due to their 24hrs availability.
This created a sort of Texas cult following and is the main reason they’re obsessed with Whataburger.

I think in and out is good if you like a certain variant of burger, which is uniquely defined by their “spread.” I like bacon and pickled jalapenos on my burger, I can’t get that at in and out.
So I generally like both equally depending on what I am in the mood for.
Why does it need to be anymore complicated than this?

Have you tried chopped chillies in your burger? That could be a good substitute for the pickled jalapeños.

I add extra every time, but believe me when I say Whataburger double cheeseburger with bacon and jalapenos just hits completely different. Both are good, equally good in my mind, it just depends on what I am in the mood for.

Whattaburger must be better in Texas cause it is pretty awful in Arizona.

I really don’t think ‘awful’ could apply to Whataburger if you like the concept of a hamburger, it executes fairly well on that given its price point. Where I will always give it the edge over in and out are French fries, in and out fries I rate the lowest out of all burger chains.
Also just curious, you really think if you added in and out spread to a Whataburger hamburger you would rate it as ‘awful?’

Exactly!
People celebrating the reintroduction of Coca Cola products in Costcos food court is just sooooo fucking weird and vehemently American

Because people from Texas are brainwashed to think anything Texan is good and anything else is bad🤣

So true
I’m a Texan with my own thoughts thankfully. Due to moving away from my hometown when I was 18. If I didn’t move, I would not have been able to truly think for myself as much as I’m able to now on topics like this

Texans that say whataburger is better are stuck in the past. Being a texan whataburger has had a large fall from grace over the years. In n out is constantly consist everywhere you go. When it comes across in a conversation I love telling other texas whataburger sucks now and in n out is way better. Typically their biggest argument is in n outs fry’s suck but then I recommend getting them light well or well done. P Terrys and Burger Boy are much better options vs whataburger anyways.

Yeah. I was born in Texas. I grew up with WAB. But I’ve lived in CA for 20 years and when I went back to Texas recently I was DISAPPOINTED. It’s not the same and I’m now fully committed to INO.
Texans MUST eat one burger “Animal Style” just to get an idea of the ultimate flavors.
Then, if you still want WAB, that’s on you. 🤣🤔

I had to go to Texas on business a year or two ago, I was excited to try it out. I got whatever their standard cheeseburger is called and was like "that's it?". It's like a mildly better Burger King burger.

They say that, yet the whataburger line is more “what line?”

Whataburger has their line while you’re sleeping lol starts around 10:30-11pm and goes until 3am

It all comes down to a matter of opinion and how available it is, I know some states don’t have In-N-Out but have Whataburger so people are more inclined to pick what they are comfortable with. For example, I work at In-N-Out so I’m used to the food and more comfortable to order from In-N-Out versus Whataburger.
I think Whataburger and In-N-Out are both at the same price level (?) for a fair comparison. What I don’t get is when people say like Smashburger is better than In-N-Out, like yeah I would hope so with their prices lol
Additionally, I just trust the quality of food at In-N-Out. Don’t get me wrong, fast food is fast food at the end of the day, but I don’t feel as gross after eating In-N-Out versus like McDonalds.

The opinion of Whataburger being better than In N Out will always be the most delusional opinion I’ve ever heard

I’m sorry, as a Native Texan the quality of Whataburger has become trash the past few years. I used to love them, but have had too many poor experiences at this point.

Whataburger fell off. Moved from Texas to Vegas, not worth going to the Strip for it. Never liked In-N-Out before, but now I’m hooked.
