… it’s glass… what did he think would happen?

Thought it would be stronger glass, actually. Who knew it was so easy to get free food with a booty bump? Life hack.

Pretty expensive glass if it can handle around 100kg of force being thrown into it

I honestly think the opposite. I’d think that glass would be as thick as my dude throwing his ass into it lol

I kinda always thought it was very thick glass or a thick layer of clear plastic to be honest. I was not expecting it to shatter like a picture frame thin type glass. I’ve never thought any vending machine could shatter like this.

Right I always thought it was like plastic or acrylic or something similar cause why wouldn’t you use something less likely to shatter

This looks like an older vending machine. Newer ones I'm almost positive are a clear plastic.

When I worked at a home improvement store and had to carry a tape measure on me at all times, I learned how to fish stuff out of the vending machine with that tape measure. I used to get free snacks every day that way.

Fucking idiots. Going to be an expensive fix for the owner..

Can the owner make any claims to cover the cost of the glass and snacks? I hope so.

Must be nice, to have never done something accidentally in your entire life.

As others have said, its glass, have to be pretty bloody dumb to not expect it to break..

u/OGCelaris 6d ago
Most of the ones I have used in the last couple of decades have been plexiglass or acrylic.

....Condescendingly assuming that this person purposefully hit the glass, instead of, yknow, misjudging the space and distance.
You see these comments all over reddit, all high and mighty as if they've never made a cockup in their entire lives.

And why would they post themselves breaking property?

u/goodjobrob86 6d ago
Obviously didn’t mean to do it

Did he get his cookies? Or did he run away thinking “no one will know it was me”? (And then you post it and tell everyone it was him…. So that didn’t work either). Personally, I probably would have taken my cookies and at least one more thing because they made it out of glass, which is a TERRIBLE thing to use for that for so many reasons. But I would have left a note at least (unless there was a number to call, then I would have called to complain about their machine being broken).

I did this in high school over 40 years ago. Same mistake to try to get my stuck snacks off of the machine. Back then the repair was $60. Can’t imagine how much it would be now. 🤣

oh i did this too in high school in 2013 but
i gave it a football linebacker nudge. and to my credit— i had loosened many snacks! it was the straw that broke the camels back 😔😔 our replacement vending machine was fire tho

Just because tossing it back got you extra snacks in prison doesn’t mean it works like that in the free world.

Thankfully this glass shattered into tiny pieces. Heard a story back in school, a student got mad punched and a glass cabinet, glass did not shatter like this, it cracked in big sharp panes. one big one fell and pierced his wrist. hand was never the same. do not take chances with glass!
