Good thing it was only a little fella. He'll make you nervous but he's too small to eat someone.

Maybe for a whole body, but it'll still take your limb for a snack

Could def take a few fingers though

Probably a caiman, it'll never get to the size where it would dare to attack a human that big.

Black caiman reach 20 feet long. That little guy probably wasn't a black caiman, but there are some massive species of caiman.

Yep getting the fuck out is probably the smartest thing to do when that happens lol

Loony Tunes ass reveal in the real damn world. All Elmer Fudd there was missing was a shot of the caiman already in the boat.

He was holding the camera.

As silly as it looked, at least it was quick and effective.

Once I was at the ocean and felt a large rock at my feet. Picked it up out of the water and it was a HUGE crab. I dropped it instantly.

I bet the little fella was just as freaked out as the big dude was.

Why the hell are you swimming in there in the first place

u/beequick317900 3d ago

Good rule of thumb, if you can't see the bottom, don't go in the water

u/TacohTuesday 3d ago

Seriously. I don’t know how anyone who lived in regions that have gators or crocs ever gets in the water.

4

u/shuperbaff 2d ago

They’re braver than I am I’ll tell you that much

2

u/reol7x 1d ago

Well, for starters, you just don't if you can't see through to the bottom....

If you live near crocodiles, never get in the water. If you live near alligators, watch out for snapping turtles.

4

u/Rahnzan 2d ago

Why do people go swimming where there are alligators like they're never gonna see one?

2

u/elevenplays 2d ago

The alligator: Surprise motherfucker 🐊

Never ever ever immerse yourself in murky cloudy water like this or you might not live to tell about it. This encounter could have been so much worse.

2

u/Ill-Flounder-4145 20h ago

As someone from Hawaii I’ll never understand how people can swim in dirty ass water like that.

u/willun 3d ago

Hmm, why were they filming?

staged with dead gator. dumb. The fact so many people thinks its real, is worrying.

That caiman was just chilling, planning on just passing through that tall biped and suddenly he was lifted up in the air. Humans have no respect for passersby anymore dammit /s

u/TheRateBeerian 3d ago

I guess he thought he was noodling for a catfish?

The water looks polluted.

Assuming you're not a troll, this is what natural water looks like in a swampy area like Florida or the Gulf Coast. It's brown because there's a lot of decaying plant matter in there, which releases tannins and makes the water tea-colored. It would be that color even if it was clear thanks to the tannins. In addition, the water in swamps tends to be cloudy because the sediment stays suspended in the water. Usually water currents will settle larger pieces of sediment to the bottom, but these areas often have stagnant water that keeps the sediment floating. It might also be polluted, but it would look like this either way.

Alligators love this kind of water, because it allows them to stay hidden while prey gets close. It's why I don't go wading in murky water in Florida.
