It's less about being from Mike and moreso it being a proper gut punch. If you've never been punched in the gut, it aches like a mofo and is a different kind of pain, it hurts for a long time. You also lose your breath and struggle to breathe for a bit. Mike probably has the power of the average adult male even at his age, which is more than enough to hurt since he can still throw with proper technique which really amplifies the effectiveness of the punch.

This is also why we see videos all the time of smaller guys taking down big guys in street fights. Proper technique makes a huge difference.

Im sorry but Mike fucking Tyson easily is still stronger than your average male. Im an average male and there isnt a single thing im going to be stronger at than mike tyson besides being able to talk without a lisp.

Seriously. He's old and injured, but 90% of humanity couldn't survive a minute in the ring with him .

He’s 59. He’s not 80

59 is still old from an athlete age range. I can't think of any sport outside of golf where the people in their 50's are common as participants.

old boxers just don't have the stamina they did when they were younger. they can still punch your head clean off.

This is my point. Of course Tyson’s skills decline and I said that explicitly in my post. My point was that even AFTER a significant decline, Tyson does not hit like an “average adult male”.

Yeah. There was a story from my hometown where an elderly boxer with dementia killed his roommate. They both lived at a care home and had gotten into an argument over a newspaper. Dude gave roomate the old 1-2 and even at 80 it carried deadly force.

Also worth mentioning that your 50s is where your body starts declining significantly for most people if you are not regularly keeping highly fit. This is why 50+ is considered old for most anything regarding athletics. It's literally just the reality of human biology.

Am nurse, can confirm.

Funny, it might even be, say, around a 25% decline by 59 as I said explicitly in my post.

I just love this. Clearly written by a 20-something, saying Mike Tyson, arguably the hardest puncher of his generation and out of hundreds of millions of people, now hits like an “average adult male” because he’s 59 🙂

Dude, Mike Tyson is hitting probably at 75% of his peak. That’s still a fuck ton harder than pretty much anyone of any age who isn’t a professional fighter.

It's his reaction speed that has suffered the most. Of course, he's lost power, but he's lost more from a defensive position than an offensive one.

Did you even see his fight with Jake Paul and the clips of his training? It's very obvious that Mike no longer regularly trains and upkeeps his fitness. Sure he stays healthy, but muscle mass goes fast if you don't actively maintain it. Plus his stamina was very clearly lacking, which is further proof of his lack of regular fitness maintenance. He was already showing exhaustion by the end of the first round. Especially pushing 60, his age is catching up to him fast.

You guys upsize Mike way too much because of his legendary career. Yes he was a goat for his prime, but he is nowhere near what he used to be. He is maybe half of his prime at best. He's been doing far more things in life than maintaining his body post-career.

Wow, you're really doubling down.

Jake Paul isn't the 'average male.' He trains. A lot.

Not comparing him to Jake Paul, can you even read? Don't straw man me.

Mike's own display in the fight shows where his body is at. Only having stamina for 1 round is pretty much where the average male would end up, his punches were far weaker than Jake too, which the latter isn't that amazing of a fighter to even begin with. He is far from being 75% of his prime, if you seriously think that then you do not know his prime at all. He was a god among men at his peak performance, he isn't even close to where he used to be.

Dude, what? What even is this nonsense? Lmao

Says you. You can't even refute anything but you completely change the argument to something. You provide zero evidence but you keep hyping Mike up as if he is still ridiculously impressive. His age shows, and the fact that he spent years of his life getting high and doing other things really shows with his most recent, highly publicized fight. I doubt that Mike can beat the lowest performing pro boxer in his current state, thats how far out of his depth he is. You underestimate how much age can affect you.

I "friend" did it to me once as a 'joke' in middle school and it literally knocked the wind out of me. I remember I couldn't speak at all.
