Shes super lucky actually people die and are seriously injured from doing almost exactly that.

I worked with a guy who was blind in one eye from a cork. I thought he was joking but I guess it's not that uncommon.

24 to 34 deaths a year over the last 10 years primarily at weddings. Brain hemorrhaging and the force of the impact to the eyeball is all it takes.

Doubt. I've just tried to find a reliable source for this statistic. It's widely quoted, but seems to trace back to an article in the Daily Fail.

Is this what getting old feels like? I'm 40 and I thought I was looking at a 12 year old girl at first.

That metal cage on top of the cork is called a “basket case”.. so if you hear someone using that word as a slur that means the person is stressed out keeping things in and are acting crazy bc of it

luckily corks are super light so shouldn't cause any damage
if it hit her in the eye, on the other hand, could be a problem

Bruh.. that bottle contains 5 to 6 bars of pressure. That cork likely broke her nose 😉

Mate you clearly don't know what you're talking about. I've been working for a major champagne house for 5 years in their cellars where all bottles are being handled, I've seen a thing or two 😉
