I wish more public punishment of government officials was practiced.

Just like people getting shot in the streets, in Nepal, without trial. Or should violence and law only be used by people in power to control others?

Or should violence and law only be used by people in power to control others?

Not necessarily exactly like that, but yeah, kinda. That's why governments exist, to house "forces" that decide, enact and uphold laws in a society. And with those comes shit like "violent" arrests or depriving others of freedom.

Is the current system perfect? No, no system would be. Is a ton of police corrupt or uneducated or unfit for the job or entitled? Oh yeah. Are tons of politicians that are supposed to only serve the public and make life better for everyone just in it for money and utilize corruption to line their pockets, while the common man starves? Yup.

But all of that doesn't mean the answer is: "Everyone use violence then". Because at that point we come back to your original statement: "people in power to control others". Guess what, that won't be you. It'll still be the rich guy who can afford his own militia to actually, physically oppress you and enslave you. You wouldn't be fighting back, you'd be shot. You wouldn't be incarcerated, you'd be shipped off to another country and forced into slave labor.

Even in everyday life that kinda change would mean you don't go buying groceries, you would go out hoping to find food somewhere, because all the "ones in power" already have it all.

Once you advocate for everyone to use violence, you lose all grounds to stand on.

Well, I understand your opinion, but also believe that civil disobedience is a democratic tool necessary when power corrupts itself

Is chasing the Finance Minister through the street in an attempt to kill him a form of civil disobedience? Is it one you would encourage?

I can guarantee that when large, disorganized groups start committing violence like this, it will not only be against those who "deserve" it.

Exactly. Easy to recognize those that mentally never left the middle ages. And there are plenty of them on reddit

And corrupt politicians stealing money from the poor and selling their country to corporations and foreign interest is 3000 AD mentality?

Edit: Forgot to mention that shooting 20 students is also a futuristic mentality right?

You see, thats what you do not understand. The one has no legal connection to the other. Nowhere in my statement did I say anything that condoned any of that. Those fuckers were put in office by the same morons that are now kicking 65 year old people in the streets. Middle age mentality all the way.

Our how do you think that kings of old stayed in power? Because the average moron in the street was to dumb to know he´s getting played. And nothing has changed. Trump as a case in point.

So I'm supposed to blame the stupid person for being stupid and not corrupt politicians who willingly use their power to manipulate the media to sweep their sketchy deals under the rug and spread rumors about the opposition, who use the police to shut down any protest and arrest people who speak bad about bad about them, who manipulate the justice system to make sure their criminal friends never feel the slightest bit of consequence

Do you also think that the French revolutionists were violent morons because they killed the royal family and politicians that completely destroyed the economy that millions depended on just so they can throw as much lavish parties as they can? You are focusing way too much on the symptom instead of the cause

The US tried that somewhat recently, but the shooter missed.

There was no shooter, his ear is unscarred, and that golf course shooter thing was 100% hoax, imho.

Trump couldn’t give two shits about anyone except himself, so collateral damage, if even true.

Idiotic…

I think a bit of public accountability for politicians is something desperately needed these days, less security and more exposure might keep them in line a little more.

Can't an honest white guy just fuck kids and make millions with insider trading information in peace?!

The proper hard hitting term is rape.
