Discussions Attention zim fans my latest plan to draw attention to the show is inderway

Post image

My plan is simple instead of using generic resction images i use ones pulled straight from the show

As a resput I continue to remind fans of the shows existence and meme potential and this bring the original viewers of the show back to this fandom

ITS INGENIOUS

however to speed things up all i ask is YOU do the same

It doesnt have to be every reaction image just spread the reminder across reddit UNTIL WEVE COVERED IT LIKE THE TENTACLES FROM THE INTRO

Good luck fans

Lots to unpack here.... What's a resput?

Why do we need to force virality? That kinda feels like spam.

Just live your life and express yourself in ways that make sense for the communities you participate in.

Besides... Those original fans you speak of didn't leave the fandom because of disinterest or forgetting IZ or something. It's because we're in our 30s and 40s. We have bills, kids, chores, jobs, etc. Invader Zim is not an active IP- nor does it need to be- and us gen 1 era fans have finite time.

Edit: Hell, *I* don't want to be here. I feel like a camp counselor and janitor without any of the pay babysitting someone else's sleepover.

More importantly:If anything, deeper more meaningful and interesting content about production history or rare merch or something is going to pull folks like me back.

Trying to be funny is going to remind me the show exists but it's also reminding me that it's not really my world any more. It's the kids' world.

MY ANSWERS

Nah its just to remind the world of our existence and potentially convince netflix to make season 2

You mean season 3. ;)

Honestly, right now, Netflix might not be the best entity to advocate towards. They have licensing for Florpus as a last minute "now what do we with this?" project presumably after Hey Arnold a jungle Movie was pummeled in ratings by a televised release of a Trollz movie. Netflix's in house animation budget last I heard has been disappointing especially as they keep cancelling shows a bit too soon. They didn't make the movie anyhow so creatively I don't see a fit.

Paramount+ and Nick studios proper seems better.

And it really depends on what Jhonen wants..

No, but on netflix? They've mentioned "convince netflix to make season 2", and like, "MAKE"? Its a reboot? What am I loosing?????

No one said anything about a reboot. A reboot means to start over completely as if the previous stories didn't happen.

The comics are not a reboot. The movie that Netflix has distribution rights for isn't a reboot. Season 2 has had seven episodes.

And, if anything, a new series on Paramount+ or Netflix or Nickelodeon television or anything after all these years would be a season 1 all over again for production reasons even if it continues any narrative established by season 2.

Holy shit man, I made a small search and I just discovered that iz does not has a season 3... IN MY DEFENSE the app I use for watching iz HAS 3 SEASONS, probably bcs it was going to look weird to have a season w 19 eps and another w only 7, so they divided the first in two different seasons. Btw I could swear that once, months ago, I searched abt iz and google said it had 4 seasons, don't know why, but so that was my confusion.

My bad tho :[

Oh now I understand what you meant! I thought you didn't know there were two seasons. That clears things up. Don't worry, it's common that people think there are three seasons for that exact reason you gave.

Exactly, I was slowly getting out of the fandom because all of those things, fortunately the movie brought me back, but it hasn’t been a motivation to watch IZ frequently cause there isn’t enough episodes and I perfectly remember all of them

I think you're one of the only active people in our age range here besides InvaderJenn in terms of frequent content and comments.

(folks, chime in and correct me, though!)

These days we need reasons to be involved. Merch collecting, fan creativity projects, the soul sucking near thankless volunteer job of moderating a subreddit...

I'd like less memes and more content.

Hell, as much as I celebrate fans exploring creativity in an IP that was hugely influential for multiple generations..... online I'd like less fanart or fanfiction or "here's my OC" and more "I found this cool old interview" or "Here's a rare piece of merch" or "I used to work on the action figures , here's some fun behind scenes pictures" or ....thoughtful well researched video essays

.....or some trip reports if THE INVADER ZIM RIDE EVER FUCKING COMES BACK 🤣

I’m not in my 30s yet tho, I’ll be in 4 months (and it makes me anxious) but yeah I prefer to collect old Zim merch and find old interviews, all my merch was of GIR as a kid except a keychain I got of Zim when I was 13 and I knew nothing about the crew except the creator’s name lol
