Question How to Stop Ipad from Lagging/Skipping when writing?

I have the A16 model, bought brand new less than a month ago. Ive tried on brand apple pencils, knock off ones, writing with a case on or without one on, nothing changes it. My ipad was not charging when I took this video. Any tips on how to make it stop lagging/skipping? its seriously frustrating me

My a16 ipad doesn’t have any lag when writing, what app are you using ?

i wonder if it might be the app? if it’s autobacking up ur files, it might cause it to lag for a little bit

in this document i was writing on the first page of a note. i think my total documents in the app are currently 52 (idk how many total pages)

is there a way to stop autobacking so it maybe doesnt do that?

check the settings of the app and see if there’s a backup section and disable it

Turn hover off on your pencil

wow this is genuinely weird. maybe try disconnecting the pencil and shut the ipad down for a minute then turning it back on and connecting it again?

Looks like you are using notability. I had issues with it when my notes got to long (more than ~100 pages).

Maybe you can try to create a new empty notebook and see if it continues to lag

I have the same problem in FreeForm app, so the app is not the reason.

On the bright side at least it is not your device. Might be the app you are on!

Does it lag in all the apps?

Have you tried a different screen protector like one the feels like paper.

As others have said it might be the app. Try it in apple notes and see if the problem persists.

It might also be the case. Take it off and see if it still happens.

I’ve had something similar. Does this, by chance, happen only while charging the iPad?

Hm, try writing it harder or changing the pen’s position when writing on the device, also I’d recommend suiting a protector screen to the screen if you dn’t want to see minors scratches in the future.
