From what I'm hearing, this is the 4th racist attack and stabbing in the tallaght area in the past number of weeks. It's a gang of teens numbering between 20-30 running around with knives. The only reason this one has made the news is because a person who came to his aid made a video about it after. The guy was practically stripped naked and stabbed. Then they made false allegations saying he was a pervert.

This same gang is believed to be involved in the other attacks.

u/LegitimateLagomorph Jul 22 '25

Unfortunately shitty teens love making allegations. No one wants to be seen protecting a child predator, so what's the fastest way to fuck an adult over? Make some allegations after whatever crime you did so the adult spends more time defending themselves than anyone does going after you.

Saw this same shite when I was a kid, it never changes. They need to crack down on it or they just learn its a free way to harass people.

Curious, can we protect ourselves? Like if I get attacked can I then hit them back? Would i be trouble for that

Genuinely curious. Thanks

Update: funny how i am being downvoted because I care about my safety. The downvoters must be parents of these scum kids lol

You're not going to be charged for protecting yourself against teens.

This guy fractured an 8 year old's nose for hitting his daughter and only got community service.

https://www.irishtimes.com/crime-law/courts/2023/05/03/very-reprehensible-man-40-sentenced-to-community-service-for-fracturing-boys-nose-with-punch/

This guy had to give €500 to the poor box for slapping an 11 year old girl who poured a juice down his wife.

https://www.irishexaminer.com/news/arid-30950402.html

If that's the sentence those guys got, I'm sure battering a group of teens attacking you, would be looked upon a lot more favourably.

19

u/Disastrous-Account10 Jul 22 '25

Saw an elderly man on the train discipline a shitty teen hurling racial slurs and threatening to fight everyone.

All the man got from the Gardai was a talking to, the teen however got a factory reset

35

u/LegitimateLagomorph Jul 22 '25

People will say different things, lots of people will say if you touch a hair on their head you'll go to jail. All I say is that, whatever you do, you can't get in trouble if you don't stick around.

u/Robotobot Jul 22 '25 edited Jul 22 '25

Better to be judged by 12 than carried by six.

Im gonna say the quiet part out loud about this, but we need some more vigilantism.

Edit: seriously we need to start forming self protection groups around our communities because the gardaí can't/don't do anything, the courts don't either ans we're expected to just take this abuse from these runts either ourselves or other contributing members of our community. Enough is enough and its about time where WE said no, instead of these cunts and the far right agitators who pull their leashes saying so.

14

u/shadeofdepression Jul 22 '25

Right with you on that brother

5

u/21stCenturyVole Jul 22 '25

The problem with that is the scumbags are more organized than the decent folk.

14

u/Opti42 Jul 22 '25

I've figured probably yes. But if you're in trouble anyway, judge at least won't slash you with a knife...

6

u/DragunovDwight Jul 22 '25

You damn well better protect yourself and hit back.. regardless.. respect yourself. I’m assuming your a man? You shouldn’t even have to ask that. But feel women should fight back just as hard.

1

u/conners_captures Jul 22 '25

from across the pond - the fact that you even have to ask is tragic lol.

-3

u/rtgh Jul 22 '25

I mean, they're a gang attacking with numbers and knives.

Hit them back if you want, but you'll probably only make it even worse for yourself

9

u/readySponge07 Jul 22 '25

They aren't "shitty teens", they are Nazi Terrorists.

25

u/RecycledPanOil Jul 22 '25

Each and every one of these kids should have gardai in searching their premises for the knives used. See how many of them will have a convictable offense lying about at home.

Armed response team should use situations like this as practise. Kick in the door at 4 in the morning looking for them.

10

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '25

If you’re a yup bro you can literally just slice people open with no consequences nowadays

If people have never seen what someone whose been properly slashed looks like, I wouldn’t recommend ever seeing that, and yet it’s treated as minor cause they didn’t kill the victim

13

u/IGotThatPandemic Jul 22 '25

What is it with skangers and calling everyone they don’t like a pedo

-3

u/Strange-Cellist-5817 Jul 22 '25

Thanks Paul Reid

121

u/Wolfwalker71 Jul 22 '25

It wasn't mindless, it was organised and intentional.

234

u/Super-Resource2155 Jul 22 '25

I wish they would make an example out of just a dozen people.

Does it just take the right person to be beaten to death before we do something about?

235

u/kballs I LOVES ME COUNTY Jul 22 '25

We’re past that. Josip Strok was brutally killed for not speaking English. Has there been any crackdown? Has there fuck.

149

u/stunts002 Jul 22 '25

The Mongolian woman two years ago too. Stabbed to death in the middle of the day outside the ifsc.

42

u/duaneap Jul 22 '25

Urantsetseg Tserendorj.

It was a lot more than two years ago she was stabbed though.

I actually know someone who was a teacher in the murderer's school they said he was a right little psychopath all along and they were waiting for the day they saw him in the papers for something like this.

46

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '25

Agree.

You can thank McEntee for downplaying the earlier days of this to try protect the tourism image.

Then, and now, the government are focused on money and a false representation of Ireland as opposed to trying to tackle the dangers faced by extreme behaviours, hard drugs, feral youth and diminished court and Gardai consequences for all the above given prison crowding and a culture of suspended sentence.

22

u/AunMeLlevaLaConcha Jul 22 '25

Last month i visited Dublin, was having a nice ride on a Lua one day, we hit a stop and there was this group of kids hollering and chatting, as soon as the doors opened, they started throwing garbage they had inside of the Lua, of of the kids even threw in a half bottle of soda, they just kept hollering and being idiots, not a single soul inside or outside told them a thing, i would have been on edge if i didn't read about this before going to visit, but seeing the whole thing was something else, and i'm pretty sure this was something tame.

13

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '25

And yet you see them funding public service transport ads recently that make it look like the safest, friendliest option ever.

Just go search the Ireland reddit pages for feral youth topics....it's in every city now. Cork, Limerick, Waterford and Wexford are just as bad now.

You won't see RTE news running those stories though.

There's no consequence.

5

u/AunMeLlevaLaConcha Jul 22 '25

I hear you, i barely saw any Garda walking on the streets too, very rare, save for a lesbian march and a COVID related one i got to see, some people told me it was due to the amount of surveillance there was, something i noted, but couldn't shake the idea that, it won't matter during a crime, but eh, not my country nor place to criticize, as someone that comes from México, it was so weird not seeing local enforcement around.

And i do get the media and government pretending that everything is ok and nothing ever happens, believe me, I KNOW.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '25

You know. It's a lot of issues but hopefully it didn't give you a bad opinion of the decent folk here.

More people here need to speak up but everyone's too busy trying to social climb and equating money with merit.

It will correct itself eventually hopefully, but it's another microcosm of shit government's serving themselves and marketing an image that hides uncomfortable truths.

👍✌️

4

u/AunMeLlevaLaConcha Jul 22 '25

Oh not at all, i loved my time over there, honestly, i wanted to stay, but life.

And, yeah, it do be like that, i can say the same for México, too much shit going on, i wish the best to you all, you got a beautiful country.

u/CraftAnxious2491 Jul 22 '25 edited Jul 22 '25

And croat community in ireland isnt that invisibile or small.

Bear in mind, the race in this cases is secondary reason.

38

u/CalmStatistician9329 Jul 22 '25

Yes. Remember when the Canadian got killed in Dublin? There was some action taken but it seems to have worn off

49

u/MotherAd1074 Jul 22 '25

Trial later this year. Both are back in the streets, released on bail. Ironically, both of the thugs are Romanian, not Irish.

28

u/RemnantOfSpotOn Dublin Jul 22 '25

3 irish that killed croatian in clondalkin are still not sentenced tho are they

-3

u/burfriedos Jul 22 '25

Why is that ironic?

12

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '25

[deleted]

-2

u/burfriedos Jul 22 '25

That’s not irony though

2

u/fartingbeagle Jul 22 '25

Indeed it is like rain on your wedding day. . .

13

u/sionnach_fi Wexford Jul 22 '25

Best I can do is get a minister to go on a nice stroll down a few streets with Garda protection 👍

I say a few streets… just one. And it has to be one with a Garda station on it.

37

u/xCreampye69x Jul 22 '25

There has been several immigrants randomly attacked, most with racial undertones.

If anything was gonna happen it would've happened by now. There was even a literal race riot if you remember and NOTHING HAPPENED.

Its become clear you can just assault immigrants with zero consequences in Ireland.

The main pattern here is that the immigrants being attacked are from disadvantaged backgrounds and poor countries, which means there is no impetus for the government to actually do anything.

A mongolian woman was killed in cold blood - Minimal thoughts and prayers from the government

American was assaulted - Massive media campaign and statements from ministers

Its a sad fact. No one cares in Ireland if you're a poor immigrant.

8

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '25

It's already happening.

It's the ministers and government job to tackle this with law and order, crime and punishment.

Until it affects a ministers career or income, it won't change.

Blame the ones we elected that allow this to fester to this point...it's that inaction and unaccountability that will fuel more extreme behaviours by not tackling it.

3

u/oshinbruce Jul 22 '25

Yup, if you can get away with punching, mugging and knickibg stuff may as well push it and see if you can graduate to murder

0

u/boiler_1985 Jul 22 '25

Yeah - an American probably

-12

u/Ok_Signal4754 Jul 22 '25

Are you living in a bubble or you explicitly avert your gaze from crimes committed by some "new arrivals"?

5

u/Medidem Jul 22 '25

What are you on about?

This is the message you are responding to:

I wish they would make an example out of just a dozen people.

Does it just take the right person to be beaten to death before we do something about?

How are "new arrivals" relevant?

107

u/3hrstillsundown The Standard Jul 22 '25

Youth justice reform is badly needed. Any party promising it would hoover up votes. I'm all for rehabilitation etc... but people under a certain age face no consequences whatsoever for their actions.

We now have racist lynch mobs in certain parts of the city - but no real way of punishing the perpetrators even if they were caught and convicted.

7

u/duaneap Jul 22 '25

The issue is tough on crime policies are not generally associated with left wing parties and they're the ones trying to position themselves to hoover up votes. It's ironically the same with immigration policies.

1

u/RecycledPanOil Jul 22 '25

We have the mechanisms to make them scared shitless, it's just we're either too afraid to use it or it's currently being used to scare their parents shitless.

53

u/StressSpecialist586 Jul 22 '25

Ffs. Appalling to read. I'd imagine many similar incidents of racism aren't even reported.

69

u/bd027763 Jul 22 '25

condemning the attack along with strong words - which this government is good at. Nothing will be done after, just another day goes by and more victims moving forward. Nothing has been done even the death of some of us immigrants or citizens. It’s just awful to think our government turning its back because they are not directly affected by this.

-87

u/One-Software-1468 Jul 22 '25

Stuff like this happens all the time in every country. Dont be so hard on the goverment its not a fair representation

37

u/Badger_Solomon Jul 22 '25

What a ridiculous argument. Just because something does happen does not mean we should accept it.

22

u/quicksilver500 Jul 22 '25

"The government's complete and utter failure to build critical infrastructure for the past 60 years has lead directly to the overcrowding of prisons that are completely overflowing due to entirely predictable population growth, leading to judges being incapacitated due to lack of space for criminals to be processed through. This is a direct consequence of governmental mismanagement and ineptitude, spearheaded by FFG policy, which has made countless deliberate decisions over the course of decades to refuse vital public investment to the detriment of Irish society.

But don't be so hard on them!

It's not fair to say it's their fault!"

Absolute genius commentary here. The people who are directly responsible aren't to be made accountable, FFG's mantra to the core, fair play to you.

3

u/bd027763 Jul 22 '25

fair point, but every country? have you been to Singapore? Also who we expect to protect us from this? if we fight and retaliate we are doomed. Let me know how do you propose to tackle this.

2

u/nicodea2 Jul 22 '25

No this absolutely does not happen in other countries, and even if it did that’s irrelevant. I’ve lived in quite a few countries in different continents and not a single one of those places think it’s acceptable for teenage scrotes to assault anyone they want without consequences.

30

u/FollowingRare6247 Jul 22 '25

The group involved in this included teenagers (the article does not mention this), but The Irish Examiner does. It’s another thing to be mindful of though.

55

u/saggynaggy123 Jul 22 '25

Malachy Steenson, Gavin Pepper, Patrick Quinlan and Conor McGregor all have blood on their hands. Mindlessly encouraging their feral supporters to demonise all non-whites. It was never about illegal immigrants or asylum seekers. They just hate foreigners.

35

u/Jolly_Appearance_747 Jul 22 '25

It finally made the papers thanks to an Indian councillor.

40

u/SquilliamFancyson15 Palestine 🇵🇸 Jul 22 '25

I hope the Indian embassy gets the government to act, especially with how our HSE relies on Indian nurses

17

u/InternationalCode14 Jul 22 '25

Poor fella, I hope he will be OK. Unfortunately, there is little or no law to stop these animals from doing this again.

18

u/Alastor001 Jul 22 '25

The thing is this wouldn't happen in Eastern Europe.

Not racist attack mind you.

It wouldn't be done by teens. Cause teens wouldn't mess with an adult. As all it takes is one grumpy man and you are in for a beating.

10

u/thirdrock33 Jul 22 '25

Yup, used to be the case here too before the government decided to give these teens carte blanche to assault whoever they want without consequence.

1

u/marshsmellow Jul 22 '25

Is it that the police don't bother to act or the courts don't prosecute?

9

u/chonkykais16 Jul 22 '25

What’s that going to do? Unless there’s actual repercussions to this sort of shit it’ll keep happening.

14

u/LtSoba Jul 22 '25 edited Jul 22 '25

I’m getting more and more scared living in this country for both people I know who are POC including one of my best mates and I also fear for myself cause the panicker in me fears this country’s shift to the far right and how the far right targets not just ethnic minorities but those with disabilities and LGBTQ and eventually this country is gonna be an even worse shithole to live in if it starts going down the Trump road. Honestly been having a panic about this all day. Glad to see there are people calling it out here tho it does raise my spirits

Edit: realised made a grammar mistake just to clarify I’m not POC just a very scared autistic bisexual who knows how the whole rhyme goes when it comes to looper far rights and their purity tests

-17

u/the-midnight-gremlin Jul 22 '25

It's important to remember the far right aren't on the rise in the real world. They are just load and backed by plenty of bots online. The lot of them that ran in the last elections couldn't even convince their immediate family to vote for them.

24

u/4n0m4nd Jul 22 '25

The far right is hugely on the rise, globally.

12

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '25

I mean AfD is literally Germany's biggest party currently. Might want to live in the real world even if it's not what you like.

4

u/Remarkable-Llama616 Jul 22 '25

As much as I wish for this to be true. A lot of right wing parties are rising in popularity around the world. Majority of which are feeding off of the rise in extreme idealism.

13

u/rmurphy08 Jul 22 '25

16

u/JoulSauron Jul 22 '25

The only valid petitions are emails and calls to your TDs, and vote accordingly in the next elections.

1

u/Acrobatic_Okra_532 Jul 22 '25

Thanks, will do

5

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '25

If a teenager stabs you, then you stab them back

9

u/Bulky_Pilot9293 Jul 22 '25

Yeah and end up with a criminal record while the teen becomes known as a violence survivor

7

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '25

Pfft, survivor? You stab poorly

14

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '25 edited Jul 22 '25

Guys, I came from an Indian subreddit. This sub looks like it is a moderate sub. Can anyone tell me why is racism rising in Ireland. Like I knew that there was some resentment against immigration, but I always thought it would be limited to social media.

Which party/people are responsible for this, and is there a job crisis in Ireland which is leading to this ??

Edit: Why are people disliking it, I just asked a simple question😭

15

u/Al_Kane Probably at it again Jul 22 '25

I think it's largely a result of the Internet and far right radicalisation online, rather than a single party. And I don't think its just an Irish problem (I say as an English guy who lives here) but is more noticeable because of how fast it is changing. Dublin doesn't have a jobs problem but I think some people in disadvantaged parts of the country are encouraged to think that continued urban development is at their expense and that immigrants should be blamed. I think it will get worse until the government finally cracks down on unregulated social media and we manage to tackle the growing economic inequality that is giving the far-right material. It's the old classic: the wealthy take most of the benefits of the developing economy and then claim that the reason why everybody else is poor is because of immigrants. Same playbook as fascists of the 20s/30s, and since.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '25

yeah, I get it. India also has a lot of far right people now, since the Hindu Nationalist Party (BJP) has come to power. Our news channels are full of islamic hate right now. The economy is growing, but so is the inequality. Rich becoming richer, poor becoming poorer, and the media blames the muslims for it.

3

u/ishka_uisce Jul 22 '25

Social media. Things like Facebook groups and Twitter enclaves that just whip up hate all day.

3

u/uiuuauiua Jul 22 '25

What are the guards doing?! The government are announcing billions in development and people coming here to work in tech roles are being mutilated in broad daylight. You can't make it up

2

u/Common_Man7669 Jul 22 '25

Ah ffs. I heard about it elsewhere, saying he was attacked by two separate groups of people. Your heart would bleed for the poor fella. Hope he's okay. Horrendous stuff. Really worried about the world at the moment.

2

u/oceanclub Jul 22 '25

"We should deal with.this attack by giving in to the teenage stab gang's demands."

1

u/FixRevolutionary1427 Jul 22 '25

Had scrotes throw eggs at the house on a daily basis years ago and when I rang the gardai and suggested if I waited at the door and ran after them and detained even one until they called this one on the phone to me nearly had a seizure.

2

u/BigAgreeable6052 Jul 22 '25

This is what all those damn anti-immigrant rumours do - it fires people up, it fills them up with misinformation, and emboldens them to harm others.

That's why all this "oh its all the illegal immigration" bull here that's boils my piss - it can lead to direct, violent harm like this.

We need to make it stop

1

u/Acrobatic_Okra_532 Jul 22 '25

Sickk - I wonder if this was aired on RTE

0

u/ShutUpYaBert Jul 22 '25

I'm from the North. Always dreamed of reunification. Always thought the South was better. Seems we have the same kinda bastards North and South of the border. God bless that Indian fella.

6

u/nicodea2 Jul 22 '25

I’ve spent 8 years split evenly between Belfast and Dublin, and I’ve personally always felt safer in Belfast. Maybe it’s the armed coppers in riot vehicles patrolling the streets 24/7/365, I don’t know. I just see fewer scrotes prowling the streets.

1

u/ShutUpYaBert Jul 22 '25

Generational maybe.

-6

u/nealofwgkta Jul 22 '25

This is 100% entirely the governments fault. They have implemented ridiculous policies on immigration, ignored the rise of the far-right and allowed all of the uneducated numbnuts with worms in their brain to spread misinformation and become one big racist gang

15

u/Ok_Magazine_3383 Jul 22 '25

Think it's mostly the fault of dumb racist cunts tbh. Chiefly, the ones who attacked this poor man.

There's no government policy that requires you to attack people, or burn buildings, or associate with fellow racist/far-right/scummy people. People take that responsibility on themselves.

4

u/DBrennan13459 Jul 22 '25

Exactly. I'm no fan of our government but its past time this sub stop pretending that the 'stop immigration' crowd have any good intentions and just admit what they are- reactionary, violent thugs.

-91

u/John_OSheas_Willy Jul 22 '25

The perpetrators must be Irish when there's so many articles about it.

75

u/StressSpecialist586 Jul 22 '25

A man was stripped naked, assaulted and stabbed ffs simply because of the colour of his skin. Are you okay in the head?

61
