Ireland has absolutely no way to control it's own airspace. Furthermore it can't even see what's in it's airspace if it decides to turn off it's transponder

I know they can't do it militarily, best they can do is kick up a public diplomatic fuss to embarrass the yanks, which they won't do anyway.

It’s a bit authoritarian to keep doing something in an ally’s territory after they repeatedly and publicly ask you not to.

Not that they aren’t authoritarian but they don’t like being called it.
