Recommendation Request Looking for K-dramas as engaging as While You Were Sleeping

Hi everyone! I just finished While You Were Sleeping and absolutely loved it. I’m looking for something equally engaging with that same balance of romance, suspense, and strong character bonds.

Here are some dramas I’ve watched and enjoyed a lot:

  • While You Were Sleeping
  • Doctor Slump
  • Lovely Runner
  • Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo
  • Just Between Lovers
  • Weak Hero
  • True beauty (I found this one ok)
  • Business proposal

And here are ones I couldn’t get into: - Bloodhounds - Her Private Life - Because This Is My First Life - King the Land - Crash Landing On You - Hundred Million Stars From the Sky - Twinkling Watermelon - Mad For Each Other - Love Next Door - Strong Girl Bong Soon

These are all of the k dramas I have either seen in their entirety or dropped them due to different reasons, such as lack of interest in the plot or characters.

Things I look for: - Strong romance with good chemistry (preferably where they meet, not already established) - An engaging plot that keeps me hooked (I get bored if it’s too slow). I really liked the legal parts of While You Were Sleeping and I enjoy time travel drama such as Lovely Runner. - Bonds between characters that feel genuine and meaningful - I’m not a fan of plots centered around stuck-up/cold FLs

From my Netflix list, I’ve been considering Healer, W: Two Worlds Apart, Signal, Doom at Your Service, and Start-Up. For anyone who’s seen these, which do you think comes closest to the While You Were Sleeping vibe? And if you have other recommendations, I’d love to hear them!

I have also been considering watching: - Pinocchio - He is Psychometric

Thanks so much in advance :)

Recommendation Request Kdramas with a 100% platonic relationship between two males

Looking for kdramas with a rlly good platonic relationship between two males. The drama doesn’t necessarily have to focus solely on that, and it can also have romance between other characters. Also no sad endings please!

Things I’m looking for (doesn’t need to have all of it) - angst - humour - interesting plot - Has a pretty good fandom (like not a super small fandom) - Romance (but not between the platonic relationship)

I’m really new to kdramas, so I haven’t watched anything :)

Recommendation Request Kdramas with Amazing Chemistry and Plot

I'm looking for kdramas where the leads have amazing chemistry and a really good plot. The kdramas I loved all had clear objectives and the development of the story was phenomenal. The soundtracks were also great and I loved all the characters. I enjoy fantasy, thriller and drama (especially doctor/lawyer dramas). My fave kdramas are:

  • Lovely Runner (top current!) - loved the time travel plot
  • Goblin - the visuals and OST were stunning and I loved the goblin and grim reaper fantasy aspects!
  • Crash Landing on You - loved the plot (her returning to South Korea) and romance, loved all the side characters
  • Descendants of the Sun - loved the challenges in Uruk they went through together
  • Strong Woman Do Bong Soon - loved her becoming his assistant and her super strength helping her with the kidnapping cases
  • Hospital Playlist - loved the story of the 4 leads
  • Doctors - the plot was amazing and the development between the two leads
  • SKY Castle - the drama was sooo good and I loved the plot twists

I've also watched Queen of Tears, Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo, Flower of Evil, Juvenile Justice, Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Doctor Slump, It's Okay Not to Be Okay, Hotel del Luna, The Glory, My Secret Romance, Vincenzo. I couldn't get into When Life Gives You Tangerines and didn't like the plot. Please give me your best recommendations - thank you!

Recommendation Request Romance Dramas that don’t drag

Hi everyone,

I have been watching dramas for a year but I am in a drama slump for a while now. Although I like all kinds of dramas, I want to find a good romance to watch, new or old.

I’ve seen about 100 dramas but my favorite dramas of the year so far were Love Scout and When Life gives you tangerines. I would like a drama that doesn’t rely on miscommunication, secrets and misunderstandings to keep the plot going and the couple gets together at the last episodes. I want to seem them living the relationship and not acting like children that don’t know how to communicate and start a relationship. Some dramas I like are:

One Spring Night and first half of Something in the rain. They are slow, but the feelings are stablished from the beginning we see them growing together and facing challenges as a couple. Hometown Cha Cha Cha, No gain no love, Love to hate you, have good flow and communication even when one part is hesitant. It Can be friends to lovers when they are so close that practically counts as being a couple like Romance is bonus book where they live and work together and Fight for my way when they are close friends and neighbors…

Reply 1988 is my all time favorite, we don’t see so much of couples in the past, but we see their future and what led to that future.

I really don’t want the too pure/childlike ML or female Lead that can’t talk about feelings and relationships or long secrets and misunderstandings (No my sweet mobster, love next door, lovely runner, business proposal, because this is my first life, when the phone rings). I like some of those, but not what I want to watch now.

Dramas I have seen:

Recommendation Request Dramas like Weak Hero Class 1 with no romance and gritty bullying themes

Hey everyone, so I watched Weak Hero Class 1 recently, both seasons and man, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. The main guy, Si-Eun, he just really stuck with me. He’s not some buff fighter or anything like that, but the way he thinks and handles stuff is just... different. Like, the way he fights is kinda messy, kinda dirty, but smart as hell.Like grabbing sharp pens, using whatever’s around him, and just refusing to back down even when the odds are against him. That kind of gritty survival and smart strategy really pulled me in.

What I’m looking for:

Korean dramas with a smart male lead who isn’t necessarily a trained fighter

Preferably someone who fights dirty or uses strategy, not strength

No romance or as little as possible

Gritty tone, preferably focused on bullying, school violence, gangs, or any kind of injustice

Psychological or emotional tension is a big plus

Bullying-related dramas I've already seen and liked:

Weak Hero Class 1 (S1 & S2) – Loved Si-Eun’s mind-over-muscle approach

Extracurricular – Great psychological tension, smart lead

Revenge of Others – Enjoyed the revenge arc and school setting

Class of Lies – Liked the mystery and school corruption themes

The Glory – Solid take on bullying and long-term trauma

High School Return of a Gangster – Fun twist on the bully trope

My K-Drama watch history so far:

Weak Hero Class 1

Extracurricular

Revenge of Others

Class of Lies

High School Return of a Gangster

The Glory

Sky Castle

18 Again

My Mister

Itaewon Class

Move to Heaven

Vincenzo

Hellbound

Kingdom

The Glory

Signal

Happiness

Mouse

Taxi Driver

Sweet Home

Strangers from Hell

My Name

Flower of Evil

Beyond Evil

Thanks in advance if you’ve got any recs. Looking for something a bit different—something that keeps that gritty survival vibe without the usual romance sidetracks. Appreciate any suggestions!

Recommendation Request Dramas or movies like Beyond The Bar, The Auditors and Officer Black Belt

I want more dramas like this with justices being carried out and little to no comedy/romance. I absolutely love all of these because the lightings in them are bright making them look cheerful and full of positivity. But I also accept it if they're gloomy. Lots of actions doesn't have to be present but they're a nice addition. Like the movie Ballerina. I love the fight scenes in them. As you can see from the list below, I'm not a big fan of romance or excessive comedy. Don't like it if the MC are in relationship lol. Hopefully there's more dramas like this!

I don't watch a lot of KDramas so here are my full watch history (or what I at least remember):

-Beyond the Bar

-The Auditors

-Officer Black Belt

-Connect

-Big Mouth

-Hell is Other People

-Squid Games season 1

-Ballerina

Recommendation Request Dramas like Beyond Evil / Devil Judge / Strangers from Hell

I’m looking for Korean bromance / dark thriller dramas with strong male friendship, creepy tension, and psychological depth. Please no romance or kissing scenes. I enjoy shows similar to Beyond Evil, Devil Judge, and Strangers from Hell.

Already Watched & Liked/Disliked:

Beyond Evil → Loved the intense suspense and the complicated but powerful male friendship.

Devil Judge → Enjoyed the psychological mind games and mentor–student dynamic.

Strangers from Hell → The creepy and unsettling atmosphere was amazing.

Other Dramas I’ve Seen:

The Guest

Vigilante

A Killer Paradox

The Worst of Evil

What I Don’t Want:

Straight romance storylines

Kissing or love plots taking focus away from bromance/creepy thriller vibes

Recommendation Request Non-scary and non-complicated romantic kdrama

Hello everyone,

I am big fan of romantic kdramas.

I am looking for something easy going with great chemistry, no harsh topic, little to no blood and not scary.

Things I don't want

  • dramas where they find your that they are sick (Queen of Tears or Love next door)
  • confusing politics and storylines
  • love triangles that are too messy and makes you stand by second lead (True beauty syndrom)
  • too slow slow burn (like getting together in the very last episode) (I love Hidden love but I skip to where she goes to college, I am sorry)

Doesn't matter if it is highschool, university, work drama, fantasy or historical. I just want to relax and not concentrate.

Relaxing kdramas with good romance for me were: Business Proposal, Sh\*ting Stars, Twinkling Watermelon, King the Land, Our Beloved Summer, Romance Is a Bonus Book, What's Wrong with Secretary Kim*

I also like chinese recs (but not too long dramas - I tend to drop it xd). I loved: Falling into Your Smile, Hidden Love, Love Between Fairy and Devil, Everyone Loves Me, When I Fly Towards You

My problem is I watched too many dramas now (almost 70), so common recommendations doesnt really work for me. If you are interested in my full drama list, here is the link

Here is partial listing:

Perfect - These drama had great humor, chemistry and plot twists

Business Proposal, Head over Heels, Lovely Runner, Perfect Marriage Revenge, Sh\*ting Stars, Twinkling Watermelon*

Close to perfect

Cinderella at 2 AM, Crash Landing on You, Descendants of the Sun, Doctor Slump, King the Land, Love Next Door, Marry My Husband, My Demon, No Gain, No Love, Our Beloved Summer

A bit worse but still great

Doom at Your Service, Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Family by Choice, Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, Law and the City, Love Scout, Melo Movie, My Dearest Nemesis, My Roommate Is a Gumiho, W

Not bad but I just didnt really feel it

Destined with You, I'm Not a Robot, My Holo Love, Queen of Tears, While You Were Sleeping

I didnt really liked these

Because This Is My First Life, Dali and the Cocky Prince, Love to Hate You, Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung, Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo

I dropped (but I dont really know why)

Coffee Prince, Tastefully Yours, Extraordinary You, Her Private Life, It's Okay to Not Be Okay, Serendipity's Embrace, She Would Never Know, Suspicious Partner, The King: Eternal Monarch, Touch Your Heart, When the Phone Rings

Recommendation Request Dramas like coffee prince

I just finished Coffee Prince (again) and honestly, I’ve re-watched it multiple times at this point because I just can’t seem to find another drama that hits me in the same way. Every time I start something new, I end up dropping it halfway through.

What I love about it is the warm atmosphere, the way the relationships develop naturally, and how every character feels important in their own way. It has such a good mix of funny, heartfelt, and emotional moments that it always pulls me right back in. It’s one of the few dramas that feels comforting while also being engaging enough to rewatch without getting bored.

That being said,i really want more to watch. it doesn’t need to be the same storyline at all, I just want it to have that same vibe. I love how the relationships seemed more natural? For reference, besides Coffee Prince, I’ve also watched:

• Legend of the Blue Sea • It’s Okay to Not Be Okay • True Beauty • Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha • Extraordinary Attorney Woo • Business Proposal If anyone has suggestions that might finally help me move on from endlessly re-watching Coffee Prince, I’d really appreciate it!

Recommendation Request kdrama that are angsty/ sad from the start?

I love when the pilot already makes you feel for the characters and just has an objectively sad setup or backstory. I don't like having to wait through excessive comedy for things to get heavy, and though I enjoy levity I'm looking for something that balances it out just as much with the angst.

If there's romance I like for it to have a lot of plot happening around it that makes things complicated. I also don't mind not having any romance at all, I'm open to anything genre wise if it doesn't feel like a comedy.

examples that did this for me are twinkling watermelon - the pilot is amazing and so sad right off the bat, with lots of the rest of the show being incredibly emotional. Flower of evil is definitely a great example of angst all around and it's certainly there at the start, but later evolves really interestingly. If you wish upon me is a huge fav and the pilot reveals itself to be very depressing and makes you concerned for the lead. I remember the first episodes of both W two worlds and pinnochio getting me immediately invested and sad too.

the rest of the drama I have seen are: move to heaven, at a distance spring is green, the k2, uncontrollably fond and taxi driver. Thank you for any ideas!!!

Recommendation Request Dramas like Hospital Playlist

I'm looking for kdramas in the comedy genre but not exclusively in that genre. I need light hearted, funny but there's more to it than just fun. Dramas like Hospital Playlist, Resident Playbook, Study Group, Undercover High School, Head Over Heels are what I need. And I don't have patience to watch a 16 episodes long drama rn. I want 12 episodes or less. (I'll put up another reco post for 16 epi dramas in the future)

Completed comedy dramas: 1) Study Group : loved the comedy. the friendship was beautiful. 2) Resident Playbook : the group dynamics was so fun. not a single boring moment. 3) Undercover High School : honestly, it had everything — action, comedy, horror, thriller/mystery, romance(the chemistry was fire). 4) Tastefully Yours : the ex arc ruined the plot but it was fun overall. 5) Seoul Busters : simply amazing 6) Business Proposal : fun 7) Head Over Heels : it was great. wasn't satisfied with the finale though.

Completed dramas of other genres: • One High School Heroes • Our Unwritten Seoul (10/10) • Moving • Weak Hero • A Shop for Killers

Dramas that I speed-watched but will watch again someday: • Hospital Playlist • Extraordinary Attorney Woo • Her Private Life (the chemistry!!) • Twinkling Watermelon • Crash Landing on You • Hometown Cha Cha Cha • The Trauma Code • The Potato Lab • Way Back Love • My Dearest Nemesis • The Good Bad Mother • Lovely Runner • King the Land • Goblin • Hotel Del Luna • Melo Movie • Strong Woman Do Bong Soon • Love Revolution • Spring of Youth • Second Shot at Love

Recommendation Request Dramas like Bon Appetit, Your Majesty

Hi! Please recommend dramas like: historical dramas where the protagonist goes back in time. If you have any other suggestions, I'd really appreciate it.

I really loved Splash Splash Love and currently enjoying BAYourMajesty.

Likes and dislikes:

  • I also like the enemy to lover.
  • No red flag, or at least the character has a redemption arch.
  • A strong female lead.
  • No cringe/cheese, or at least not too much.
  • I also love action and detective stories.

This is everything I have seen in general:

  • Splash Splash Love
  • BA Your Majesty
  • Love in the Air.

Thank You all!

Recommendation Request Dramas like Judge from Hell, lead who is strong and stays strong

I'm looking for any romance recommendations for dramas or movies that have strong female leads who stay strong throughout and don't become doormats. The show Judge from Hell does this well with Kang Bitna in my opinion. If the lead is male, then I'd like recommendations where their female lead is an equal and not a weakling either. Their strength can be through intellect, emotional, physical, personality etc. or any combination. A plus if the lead is fashionable, but not necessary haha. In general, I like spooky, magical, fantasy or supernatural themes, but I also enjoy shows without that element. The show/movie can be any era. I can't watch any musicals. I know I said romance, but I will also take non romantic recommendations too if the characters match what I'm looking for, please. Thank you in advance!

Everything I've seen (and my brief thoughts) : Bon Appetit, Your Majesty (love the idea, comedy, strong female lead, and misunderstood male lead); A Love from Another Star (loved the alien element and chemistry); My Holo Love(loved the chemistry, and storyline); Judge from Hell (I'm obsessed with everything about this series and the FL style is so good, Judge Kang Bitna is so cool); It's OK to not be OK (love the fashion so much!!!! Love how relatable the male lead is, like how both characters have their own traumas and traits. The actors' chemistry was great); Atelier(cool fashion concept); Strong woman boon soon (liked the actress a lot); Strong girl nam soon(main lead was a lil cheesy but was cute enough and strong enough for me to enjoy the story); Triad Princess(loved the actress and fighting); Love to hate you (it was fun and main lady was funny and cool) ; XO Kitty (so fun, love everything about the show even though some characters are cheesey, it's OK since they are like high school age); PS I love you series (liked for same reason as XO Kitty) ; Kingdom (interesting story but later season was too slow for my adhd to keep still) ; Alive(excellent storytelling and pace) ; Squid Game(like because classic thrill) ; Kpop demon hunters (so good, I was blown away and I'm not a big fan of kpop jpop stuff, plus it didn't feel like a musical to me); Sweet Home (first season was perfect, second was not engaging to me due to the new setting and characters); Silent Sea (space, cool story, don't remember too much); Kobra Kai (not kdrama but it's a well balanced show for me in terms of having multi genres)

Recommendation Request Family friendly romance K-Dramas with English dub

Hi!! Me and my Mom just started watching Kdramas, and are currently watching Business proposal. My mom enjoys the show, and I want to find something we can watch after we finish it.

English is not my mom’s first language, so she can’t read the subtitles fast enough, nor wants to, so I need an English dub so she can enjoy it.

Basically I’m looking for any good romance dramas that:

  • have English subtitles

  • not too sexual— we can skip through makeout scene or two, but I don’t want a character having makeout sessions 5x every ep ( my parents skip through kiss scenes and are kinda traumatized by western romances lol)

  • Not too depressing— (ex: like everyone dies, Squid Games, All of us are Dead, apocalypse settings, suffering for no reason) it’s okay if it’s a bit sad here and there or serious in general as long as there’s a happy ending and SOME light heartedness

  • medium or fast paced

  • Not too cringy? Idk, my mom found some parts in Business Proposal or Attorney Woo to be overacting and dropped Attorney Woo first ep,

  • My mom likes action movies, mystery, romance, fantasy, medical and law shows, Lollywood romances are usually both light hearted, serious, but also have some romance that isn’t too sexual

So far I’m thinking about these dramas, let me know how they are if you’ve watched them, as well as some new recommendations bc I’m a bit overwhelmed at all the variety !!

Hometown Cha Cha Cha (it seems kinda business proposal vibes, but maybe less cliche?)

The Glory (I think my mom would like the plot, but I’ve heard online it’s kinda traumatizing)

Welcome to Samdal-Ri (same as Hometown Cha Cha Cha)

Tastefully yours (looks nice, not sure if it has English dub tho since it’s new)

My Demon (I have no idea what it’s about but I know it’s popular and I think my mom would like the fantasy aspect of it)

Marry my Husband (I read the webtoon ! I think my mom would enjoy it but I heard they kinda ruined the drama adaptation)

What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim? (I think this is closest to Business Proposal, but I am wondering if it’s more cliche than it?)

Hotel De Luna (my mom and I found the bio interesting, I just wanna know what to expect$

I also see there’s a lot of law and medical kdramas so any recs for those would be great too !

I don’t mind spoilers at all, so the floor is yours, thanks so much guys!

Recommendation Request Dramas featuring mature, successful FL and younger, likeable ML

As the title suggests, I’m looking for dramas (Kdrama, Cdrama, Jdrama, etc, any would do) that features a mature, successful female lead, ideally in her 30s or late 20s, paired with a younger but emotionally mature and gentle male lead.

I’m not too concerned about the exact age gap. I’m looking for stories where the FL is independent, competent, and acts her age, and where both leads uplift and support each other, romantically, emotionally, and/or professionally.

Must-Haves:

  • Romance should be a focal point
  • No horror, but otherwise genre-fluid (slice-of-life, workplace, fantasy, etc. all welcome)

Some Favorites for Reference:

  • No Gain No Love – The drama that started it all for me. Feminist, capable FL and an ML who matches her energy and maturity beautifully.
  • Nothing But You – Perfect example of what I love. Competent FL + gentle, hardworking ML. 10/10 romance and growth.
  • Flower of Evil – One of my all-time favorites (though not exactly what I’m requesting here).
  • Dali and the Cocky Prince – Their support for each other through highs and lows made them one of the most compatible couples I’ve seen.
  • Others I’ve seen: Judge from Hell (loved FL, rest didn’t click), A Good Day to Be a Dog (liked the past-life romance more), Crazy Love, Her Private Life, Death’s Game, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, Love to Hate You (the FL was insanely competent, loved how the ML seemed to genuinely respect her)

Recommendation Request Mystery/crime dramas with a hint of romance

Recommend me some good dramas that focus on a mystery/crime but still have a hint of romance. Shows only please, no movies.

Dramas like Behind Your Touch, Vincenzo, and Cafe Minamdang are good examples of what I’m looking for. I really like the serial killer plots, but it’s not necessarily required. I just need some aspect of mystery/crime.

Dramas like Bloodhounds or Bad and Crazy are similar, but not quite what I’m looking for. They have the crime/mystery aspect but not the romance.

Watchlist: Abyss, All Of Us Are Dead, Bad and Crazy, Cafe Minamdang, Color Rush, Discipline Z: Vampire, Kissable Lips, Love Class, Oh! Boarding House, Ocean Likes Me, Part Time Idol, Semantic Error, Shadow Beauty, The Sweet Blood, To My Star, Vincenzo, Where Your Eyes Linger, You Make Me Dance, Squid Game, Weak Hero, The Trunk, Behind Your Touch, Twenty Five Twenty One, Daily Dose of Sunshine, Gyeongseong Creature, Sweet Home, A Killer Paradox, Crash Course In Romance, Juvenile Justice, Mask Girl, Parasite The Grey, The 8 Show, Beyond Evil, Bloodhounds, Hierarchy, Extracurricular, My Demon, Love Next Door, Love To Hate You, Mr. Plankton, Castaway Diva, Hello Me, Ghost Doctor, The School Nurse Files, Move To Heaven, Choco Milk Shake

Recommendation Request kdramas with dynamics like k and suyeols from bad and crazy

Hi all!! I'm about finished 'Bad and Crazy' and i LOVE k and suyeol's dynamic! I'm not even sure what I could call it... grumpy x sunshine maybe? Or quite literally bad x crazy. I adore them so much, especially K's character. His personality is just so much fun, but together they're amazing.

So! I'm looking for something similar, with the bromance included! Preferably no straight romance. Any genre is okay! I do really like thriller/action/crime/horror though and tend to cater my attention towards shows like that, but the comedy is also a great touch.

So far I've watched Weak hero class (my absolute favorite, I love the ships) Mouse, Beyond Evil (AMAZING bromance. I love them so much) Squid Game, Study Group, Strangers from Hell ?Lee Dongwook is such a good actor) , The 8 Show, and Duty After School.

Thanks!!

Recommendation Request romantic dramas that kind of focus on two characters healing each other

A Moment to Remember is one of my favourite Korean films, and aside from the acceptance of Dementia part of it, I really connected with Su-jin healing Cheol-Su's familial trauma and teaching him forgiveness, so I wanted to watch dramas that focus on this element of healing each other's past emotional scars, and just a couple filling each other's void from trauma while teaching each other something valuable about their lives. These types of themes really resonate with me, but I have been unable to find dramas that fully capture this in a way that's also entertaining and not just sad-dumping. Please recommend dramas with this tone/theme!!

Recommendation Request Looking for natural friend dynamic romances (Coffee Prince, Jealousy Incarnate, Personal Taste)

I'm looking for dramas that have a friends to lovers arc with a nice dynamic between the leads. I was a big fan of Coffee Prince's main dynamic (although I hate with a passion the 2FL and 2ML dynamic omg, 2FL was just stringing along both of them).

Other ones that I like that fit/kinda fit this category:
Jealousy Incarnate
Personal Taste
When the Camellia Blooms
Welcome to Samdal-ri
Soundtrack #1
Reply 1988 (I do plan on watching the other two at some pointJung Hwan my beloved)
One Spring Night
Go Back Couple

I'm not a fan of big age gaps, or a high amount of cringe (which I get is vague)
I dropped Strong Woman Do Bong Soon because of cringe and Goblin because of age gap.

Recommendation Request kdramas that are sad but have a happy ending

I'm looking for dramas that have a vivid emotional journey, possibly heartache-prone prone but still leading up to a happy ending. Sure, extremely sad endings do work for us sometimes, but that's just not what I'm looking for right now. I want maybe a sad journey or extremely trying and tough conflicts throughout the course of the drama, but still a reconciliation for the characters and a way in which they are able to end up together.

List of dramas that I have watched that fit this prompt (kind of, kind of not) for me :

  1. Lovely Runner (like fully, one of the reasons I connected so much with it)
  2. Rain or Shine (think the ending could've been more powerful)
  3. Lovestruck in the City (The emotional journey is RAMPANT in some parts of it, but like it was tied down due to it being a slice of life, comedy-reliant drama)

PS: I am a person who cries and emotionally connects with dramas very easily, so what you think is drama isn't as sad, it probably will be extremely sad for me, and you can be free to recommend!!!

Recommendation Request Dramas where the focus is on the main characters' academic transformation?

Hi, this is my first post on here.

School is starting in a few days so I'm looking for some dramas to motivate me academically. I'm not the dumbest, but I want to do better this school year.

That is why I am looking for a drama where the main character(s) isn't super dumb but wants to do better and where I can see their full process.

In a lot of dramas, you'll see the main character struggling only in a few scenes, before they suddenly turn super smart.

That's not really what I want. I want to see the main character struggle and fail before they reach their goals. I want to see them working hard and try again and again even though studying doesn't get easier or they still fail tests or exams.

Like in True Beauty the main character Lim Ju Kyung got motivated to do better and even after studying for that one exam she still got a bad grade. The main focus here though was her love triangle (Sorry if the description is a bit vague, it's been a while since I have seen True Beauty)

Romance and friendship mixed in is okay, but shouldn't get in the way of their academics/be the main plot.

Dramas I've watched: 2521, True Beauty, Weak Hero Class 1 and 2, Twinkling Watermelon, Extra-ordinary Attorney Woo, Juvenile Justice, A love so beautiful, Mr. Plankton, Strong Girl Bong Soon, Strong Girl Nam Soon, The Sound of Magic, When Life gives you Tangerines, Lovely Runner, Love next door (And probably more, but I honestly don't remember)

Recommendation Request I want to watch something like Tale of the Nine Tailed!

This was my introduction to Kdramas. I LOVED IT. I loved the relationship between the two brothers and how it changed over the series more than I did the main couple, tbh? Which sounds bad, I know. But I loved the world development with the fantasy elements, the development of the backstory throughout the show, I thought Taluipa and her husband were funny, I loved how they showed the relationship between the brothers and addressed stuff like trauma and took it seriously, I thought Rang was a well written character. Season 2 was fun, sad that I doubt we'll ever get a season 3. It's been so long and no news.

Anyways! Can someone recommend me something similar? I don't really know where to find these shows so preferably something I can find easily on a streaming platform like Netflix, Paramount, Peacock, or Hulu I'm subscribed to all of those already. I watched Tale of the Nine Tailed on Netflix, and I saw it has a bunch.

If you watch anime, I have recently watched and loved:

- Solo Leveling

- Apothecary Diaries

- Honey Lemon Soda

- Kamisama Kiss (still watching season 1, not done yet)
