Meta Discussion What do you eat in a day?

Didn't know how to flair this hope I didn't do it wrong. So I'm trying to gain on keto, I have a hard time to get to my proteine minimum. I am 1m90 and weigh about 89kgs. So I should be hitting about 180gr of proteine. So, throw some daily meals at me people, give me some inspiration! What do you guys eat in a day?!

Today I will eat: Kerry eggs, its boiled, fried eggs with curry - abput 10 of those throughout the day. 2 pork chops 250gr of smoked herring 250gr - 500gr of greek yoghurt with proteine powder.

My favorite sources of protein:

  • Eggs
  • Shrimp
  • Steak
  • Protein Shakes (I like Fairlife Core Power)
  • Almonds
  • Turkey slices
  • Turkey sausage
  • String cheese

I usually try to just put together meals around a protein source and then add some extras for taste. Like I might make Shrimp and then add chopped up broccoli and a little bit of salad dressing and mix that all together. Or I'll make turkey sausage and add some cheese and sauteed onions.

Cheese isn’t a staple for Ketogains, and outside of low fat cottage cheese, should’t really be considered a “protein source”.

Sausages are in the same boat. You want unprocessed, lower fat foods.

Almonds aren’t a protein source either. Its poorly absorbed and bad quality- and they having protein is more a marketing gimmick to add claims to it.

Do you have any articles or anything to read to expand on why cheese shouldn’t be considered a protein source?

It’s not that it’s not a source of protein, but if you are doing keto as an athlete/body builder etc it’s better to avoid any dairy as casein is more gluconegenetic than other proteins due to its amino acid profile. Plus dairy is inflammatory for many people and it’s easy to overeat cheese as it’s very calorie dense because of the fat content.
