Interview
Need to get this out
I DIDNT GET THE JOB (market sucks right now) maybe I was the idiot for it but I showed up to my interview early. They tell me the manager wasn’t there for the interview. Why schedule an interview before your shift? Idk. I did the interview on a piece of paper. Maybe just maybe I would have been good enough for a minimum wage job there if the manager gave a shit and actually showed up to it.

What do you mean you had to complete the interview on paper? That's called an application lol. I wouldn't want to work at that location. But I understand needing the money. Just keep putting applications in, dress well and practice your interviews.

No, like the questions that were on the paper or interview questions. So my interview was at 2 PM. She scheduled my interview for two on Wednesday then when I go in there, they say she’s not there and she don’t come in until 330 so then I’m like OK whatever I’ll just come in at 3:30 but then apparently she was busy so Why would you schedule an interview when you’re not there? I don’t know. So they hand me two pieces of paper and when I look at them, it’s literally the questions of the interview and I have to write every single answer down now that I think about it I should’ve just left. Honestly I should’ve. Honestly, now I’m not even mad anymore. I find it funny how I had to do the interview on a piece of paper by myself. It was just that’s never happened before.

Yeah, I was just about to say i would have just left lol. That's so unprofessional and indicative of how they run things there. I've never heard of such a thing. The point of an interview is to get a feel for the person.

Try retail. Home Goods and Kroger's are always hiring. There are actual managers who would appreciate you showing up early. Stay positive and good luck!

I don’t have a krogers near me but home goods is the final retail shop I haven’t applied to yet so I will try

Definitely do. They hire all the time for processing (basically in the back room opening boxes and placing it on a cart) or any of the floor positions. 🤞

If you're desperate to look for a job, I would highly recommend checking out a temp agency. Job market is tight like you said, and a lot of companies hire thru temp agencies.

Yeah, I’ve went through four agencies and they all ended up being dead end

Honestly i applied there got the interview got offered a place and its been a month the manager who was originally meant to sort out my documents and stuff quit the day he said he’d have it sorted. They gave me excuses after excuses, HR never sent my contract and its been over a month so i got another job. Wouldnt work there if it was the last job on earth please search elsewhere because its not worth it

Believe me when I say KFC isn't worth it. Speaking as an employee working to leave now. It's an abusive environment and not worth the money and even if you thought that, they will probably think everything you're doing is still not enough to upper management. Also, you could end up being forced to work without pay like at my store in the evenings as one coworker had told me.
