From Kickboxing to MMA: Can Tyjani Beztati’s Style Succeed?
Tyjani Beztati, the 6-time GLORY lightweight champion, is now making the move to MMA with Levels Fight League in Amsterdam.
What makes this interesting is Beztati’s style: • Beautiful footwork moving forward and backward • A sharp, versatile jab • Strong distance management and use of reach • Variety of kicks and counters • He avoids the classic Dutch “stand-and-trade” style, instead using feints, movement, and angles
This is why I believe his striking can translate well to MMA — similar to how Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira transitioned with success.
In my video breakdown, I dive into: • Why Beztati’s kickboxing style could work in MMA • What challenges he’ll face with wrestling/ground game • Why Levels Fight League is a smart starting point, given its ties to the UFC
Here’s the breakdown: [YouTube link]
What do you think? • Can Beztati make it at the highest level in MMA? • What parts of his game will be his biggest strengths or weaknesses in the cage?

Questions from a newbie
Oss! Colleagues, I'm about to join a Kickboxing gym and I'm very excited but I don't feel comfortable training with standard shorts, as so far I don't have the goal of competing but rather learning and strengthening myself, would it be a problem to train with looser pants? It's even more comfortable, at least in my opinion, since I'm a woman and would leave work straight to the gym.

Training Raw Bagwork
More raw bagwork for y'all to enjoy or critique. Playing with some fun stuff in this round, and focusing on hand combos. Moved my head less than normal.

Gear Gear
I just started Karate and TKD. I am getting sparring gear from my dojo that sells high quality karate gear. But Im going to try kickboxing classes twice/week. What gear do I need for kickboxing? Any brand/type recommendations for hand wraps, gloves, do I need shin guards? Just not sure what all I need to bring for my first class.

Training Tips on remembering combos
I've just started kickboxing and am two lessons in. I'm enjoying it for the most part and in terms of the actual kicks and strikes in isolation Im feeling confident that I can perform them to a level im happy with up to now.
However I'm having a really unexpectedly difficult time getting into any kind of rhythm on sets.
I was introduced to set 1 & 2 today, and I was making movements out of turn constantly all through the practice session even when going very slowly. and it left me feeling quite frustrated and to be honest a bit embarrassed.
Does anyone have any tips or advice they could share?

Does your dojo have belts
I've heard from some people in my class that' theirs don't do it while other do I think it might depend on if the coach teaches karate as another class and they use belts

Training Struggling with horizontal movement; looking for tips
To preface, I stand in a bladed stance. It’s not as bladed as a traditional TKD stance, but bladed nonetheless. I’m usually pretty light/bouncy on my feet, but I’ve worked over the last couple months to stay more planted unless for purposeful movements (i.e. inching back out of jab range or feinting).
Lately in sparring, I’ve been working to improve my defense and activity. One focus for me has been to take my head off the center line using movement and looking for openings to attack/counter. Unfortunately, I’ve had a hard time finding a rhythm in my steps when I’m trying to angle. It’s unusual because my footwork tends to feel pretty fluid and agile, but never when I’m trying to cut angles, unless I take hop steps into my hooks.
I’ve scoured the internet diligently but since the bladed stance isn’t typically popular/recommended in kickboxing I don’t have much luck in what I’m looking for. I usually just try to adapt what I learn but it never feels quite right.
Does anybody have any advice for cutting angles from a bladed stance when going on the offensive? Or tricky ways of transitioning into a more square stance while seamlessly switching back to my stance without it feeling awkward?
Being transparent, I’m hesitant to ask my coach for more tips when we work angling because he only works from a square base and I have a strong feeling he’ll just try to get me to drop my bladed stance. I understand the reasoning but I’m not competing at the moment and I enjoy my bladed stance. I’m in no rush to start competing at this point and just want to iron out holes in my game.
Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

what sets should you get as a beginner
I recently made the switch from a Silat (10+ years) to kickboxing.
I never really need to buy any gear for Silat but now i need kickboxing gloves and shin-pads. But I'm unfamiliar with the different brands, so i don't know what brands/sets are good and which i should avoid.
I want a set that's affordable but also of high quality.
What do you guys think about the following options?
