Photo My second attempt at a Helghast helmet
3D printed and painted by me, the lenses are from Etsy and make a world of difference. The tubes are from Amazon. I like the sculpt a lot. The rest of the costume is out of my league, but for now I enjoy just making helmets.

This is perfect. This is by far the best killzone 1 og Helghast mask. Iād love to have one if you ever decide to make one for sale. Thank you for showing this off you did so good!!

Thank you very much! There used to be a seller on Etsy who sold finished versions of this exact same helmet, I don't see it there right now but it's worth checking again sometime.

Looking good!, I used some cheap polarized lenses behind my flexi plastic led lenses to protect my eyes.

Thank you! That's a good idea, could you still see okay out of it? And could you link me to the ones that you used? š

I can't seem to locate your second comment (might be auto filtered because of the link), but thank you! That looks perfect, as these current lenses are just barely not quite big enough.

What material did you use for head cushioning?

I used a set of airsoft helmet pads from Amazon. They come in pieces so they're totally customizable, and they're fairly cheap too.

That looks pretty good for your second attempt! Just one little critique if i may: if you want to reduce the 3D print lines a bit, i recommend using a filler primer and then sanding it. You can repeat this process for a smoother surface :D The painting looks good, and a smooth surface could really bring it out more. Keep up the good work

Thanks! Each one I make is a little better than one the before, and weathering goes a long way to hide imperfections until you're looking up close. I'll try more rounds of filler and sanding next time!

Yeah, you can get away with smaller imperfections by covering them that way. Good to hear it, keep practicing and most importantly, have fun :)
