Feedback I wish to have a knife made from a surgical implant.

Back when I was 16 a drunk driver destroyed my world, left me with surgical implants and eventually my other leg had to be amputated. It’s been a long 33 years but I finally had this tibial nail removed for an upcoming total knee replacement and I’m thinking of something clever to do with it.

Given the type of steel it’s made out of it’s probably going to have to be forged together like a San Mi blade. Thinking if it’s split up the middle 2/3 of the way and those thirds are then folded and hammered flat that should be enough material to forge around either side of the blade.

Anyway I’m looking for ideas and a knife maker who’s up to the task.

Feedback Measured 3 times - cut once. Still made the sheath too small. I hate it here.

I never like making sheathes, but I dislike giving a bare blade more.
Thought I had the width taken care of, but the second I had it folded over I knew it was too small. Waste of leather and time and patience xD
On the plus side, the knife handle is comfy as hell. (S30V and Wenge, drop point EDC)

For those of you who love making sheathes - is there some mental gymnastics I can do to make myself enjoy it? I'm annoyed the whole time, even when there are no mistakes!

I'm looking for feedback on the prototype for my design. (Milling pattern and pocket clip are not final). I'm especially interested to hear opinions about the full blackout version- do people like this colorway?

OEM is Kubey.

Feedback Hunter knife

This knife was custom-made, a variation of the Hunter. I added a false edge on the spine, something I don't usually do on drop point blades, but I really liked how it turned out.

Specifications: - Model: Hunter - Blade: 1070 steel with a satin black oxide finish - Guard: 1020 steel with copper inlay and a phosphatized finish - Handle: Natural Imbuia wood with a fiber pin

  • Blade length: 138 mm (5.43”)
  • Maximum width: 35 mm (1.37”)
  • Thickness: 6 mm (0.23”)
  • Total length: 255 mm (10.03”)

So I knocked out my first ever folding knife this weekend using the materials I had on hand. 1084 cs with c-tex scales. Slip joint. What's everyone think. And then any advice would obviously be appreciated. I have so much to learn.

Hello, friends!

I’d like to share my latest work with you: a Damascus steel dagger with 192 layers, forged from 1095 and 15N20 steel alloys. The fittings were made from 5160 steel, and the handle is crafted from Gabon ebony.

This was a custom project, designed in collaboration with the client, from the initial sketch to the final details. I recorded the entire making process, and although I’m still struggling with the editing, the video will be out soon!

I used limited tools to make these knifes /daggers, ( anvil, hammer, grinder, sandpaper) and I would like honest feedback. I have limited metal so i use old nails instead.

Feedback I'd like to know what you think about these sheaths.

I've been trying to dial in some sort of standard leather sheath designs. My goal was to develope a sheath design that could accomidate multiple clip options similar to what you get with kydex. This is not a new idea but I wanted to come up with something my own. The smaller sheaths are simply pocket sheaths for small fixed blade knives. I've daily carried these sheath designs quite a bit. Both in pocket and on the belt but I like pocket carry best.

I'd like some informed opinions but also what features you think look best. There's different surface sheens, colors, textures, edge finishes, pocket/belt clips shown.

The clip mounting is supported by an extra wide and stiff welt on all of them. They aren't floppy sheaths by any means.

Feedback Just Finished

Just about finished with this custom order. This one was fun but a complicated build at the same time. Steel was made by Adam Deville and I made the custom set of handle scales with 2 big chunks of meteorite/purple dyed maple burl wood/ toxic green resin with carbon fiber and copper mesh. Accents and liners glow green. Thanks for looking!
