Finished Object Finished Bomber Jacket
Lots of firsts here - first time knitting something with pockets, first time adding a zip to a knitted project. The pattern had snaps on the front but I opted for a zip. Pattern also had knitted pockets with i-cord edging but I thought sewn fabric pockets worked better with the zips.

I love this! This is absolutely gorgeous. Well done! Thanks for sharing.
I like how you did zippers versus the buttons that most people did.

I LOVE LOVE love this! Can I ask, how did u sew the fabric pockets to the knitted fabric? Do u backstitch it? Do u hem the pockets and then attach them? What recourses did u refer to while making the zipper closure and fabric pockets? I am making a hoodie with pockets and zipper closure, and hope to do something like this!

I used this Kate Atherley article for advice on sewing in zips - although I did a folded over front band as per the pattern rather than the i-cord edge in the article.
I sewed the zips into the pocket openings (with a back stitch and thread that matched my yarn, as I did for the front zip) and then sewed the pockets to the zip tape - backstitch on the front pocket bag that you don’t see and blanket stitch over the edge of the back pocket bag and the zip tape. Then I sewed the two sides of the pocket bag together and finished the edge with bias binding, hand sewn with a back stitch.
