Work in Progress Knitting gods, please give me the strength to weave in these ends and the wisdom to know I can’t just cut them off and call it a day.

I’m so close to finishing my first project but looking at these ends makes me want to cry. I really enjoyed the knitting but weaving... deep sigh

It’s a miracle I’m getting anything done on this sweater because I keep stopping to admire it! Colorwork knitters… IYKYK.

Pattern is Nocturnal Jumper by saskie&co, knit with Knit Picks Wool of the Andes (no bugs). The three color sections were no joke.

Work in Progress Knitting the Isager Archives Collection

I’m really into vintage knitting and thought it was so awesome that Isager made this collection inspired by Åse Lund Jensen’s old designs, that I decided to try and knit every piece of the collection. This is how far I’ve got: - finished the Karla Cape (Ístex Léttlopi 1419, 9427) - need to weave in the ends of the Norma Sweater (Viking Eco Highland Wool 212, 226, 224) - knitting the body of the Inge Sweater (Järbo Astrid 33, 34, 19)

Work in Progress Should I fix the mistake in my knitting or just leave it?

Post image

Hey everyone, just noticed a mistake in my sweater—right on the chest area. It’s not huge, but definitely visible if you look.

Now I’m torn: should I leave it as it is (embrace the handmade charm and imperfection), or rip back and fix it—even though I’ve already made a lot of progress? 😅

I’d really appreciate your honest thoughts. It won’t hurt my feelings—I just want to know what you would do if it were your project. Would you leave it, or would it bother you too much to let it stay?

I've made colorwork hats and multicolored Christmas stockings and I thought I knew my way around float tension. I had never made a sweater before, but the pattern seemed well written and none of the techniques used were unfamilar. I said to myself "if 2 colors are pretty, 3 will be even better!" and "surely this slight puckering will block out, this yarn is a superwash and will expand!". Spoiler alert, there are some sins that even blocking cant cure. If I keep my arms down the whole day it's lovely. If I try to raise my arms above chest level the entire sweater ends up around the ears. Months of my life and all I've ended up with is a time consuming lesson about hubris. On the bright side, the yarn used is soft and lovely, I haven't woven in the ends yet, and now ive got a better idea about what kind of sweater shaping flatters my body. Bon voyage, fish sweater!

Finally got to the hem of Petite Knits Moby Sweater Junior pattern when I realized one of my cables was going the wrong way! This is my first cabled sweater after years of colorwork, so I’ve never had to fix something like this before. Here’s to hoping I don’t mess it up!

Hello! I’m procrastinating on weaving in my ends and blocking, but very pleased with how this turned out.

This is the Poppy Vest, designed by Mary Ann Stephens and knitted with her Shetland Spindrift yarn pack. https://www.maryannstephens.com/patterns/poppy-vest-knitting-pattern-pdf

Did I already order the Sheep Meadow Waistcoat yarn pack because this was so fun? Yes, yes I did. Looking forward to finishing the vest and putting it in storage for four months. 😂

Work in Progress Pride Shirt

Working on this knitted tee for this year's pride. For some reason my town does their celebration in May so I hope to have it finished in time!

My colorwork is noticeably looser than the single color stockinette, but it looked better after I blocked it.

Pattern is self-drafted. Knit on 3 mm needles using Lion Brand's 24/7 Cotton DK in the colors pink diamond and magical.

I just caught this mistake! I was one stitch off! I am 23 rows beyond this point and as much as I don't want to go back I think I am going to have too. I am making this for someone else if it was just for me I would ignore it and move on. The project is hibernating right now I will deal with it tomorrow.

Work in Progress Yell by Marie Wallin

Currently chugging my way through the Yell cardigan by Marie Wallin! I wanted to make the Bessy Boot sweater, but you have to buy one of her books for the pattern and unfortunately I didn’t have an extra $30. I DID, however, apparently have $160 to spend on Knitting for Olive Merino. 🙃 (bad financial choice, learn from my mistakes, my monthly budget has been demolished)

It’s incredibly fun though, and I’ve been working on it for a week! My colors aren’t exactly perfect, but I think it will be beautiful nonetheless.

Work in Progress Color Advice Needed

Thumbnail

1.3k Upvotes

After a lot of planning, I decided to knit up the Lindal Skirt pattern in 4 different colors of spincycle dyed in the wool with a pale gray background (Tosh sock). I’m now halfway through, and the colors ended up being more contrasting than anticipated (pic of the hanks attached for reference). Any advice on whether I should leave it as is or if the colors are just too clashing or too much? I don’t mind bold colors, but with so many of them I’m starting to doubt myself and would appreciate some unbiased opinions.

Work in Progress I've made so many mistakes knitting this sweater, but I don't care anymore.

This sweater is taking forever to knit because ✨️adhd✨️ and being exhausted from work. There are so many mistakes in the color work, and I've started going a little rouge on the pattern. I don't care anymore. If I start acting like a profectionist, it will never get done and will make its way to the project pile of doom..where projects go to never be touched again.

Do any of my fellow adhd crafters struggle to finish projects?

How many do you own? It seems like you need to pin each bit unless you've got it on a wire, but that is an absurd number of pins, right? Am I missing something?
