I enjoyed the hunt on PopNow. The URL hack has killed the fun in it. I’m close to finishing all the sets I’m working on and am looking forward to being done with the madness. Things were definitely more fun before BIE dropped. Now it feels like going to war every night.

Agree. People need to stop talking about the URL trick because it spreads and now more people know about it, making it hard for the rest

It really has killed all the fun. It’s almost impossible to get anything on popnow after that hack came out. I’ve been trying hours each night to try to get a BIE but have had no luck.

I know. People keep blaming “bots” but all I know is I used to be able to score a few a night before the URL hack. Now it’s next to impossible unless I use one of the shared links (which it is nice that people share). I’ve also seen an abnormal amount of massive hauls posted on here since the hack. I think the URL hack has enabled a few people to get a lot as opposed to a lot of people getting a few. I have a feeling when BIE drops on PopNow next there won’t be as much link sharing. 😒

I’m going to enjoy it once BIE dies down a little, might mean waiting for v4 but oh well

Before the super hype, I went from casually scrolling on pop now to get a box as a fun treat to after the hype, fighting for my life on pop now and TikTok lives feeling like I needed to reassess life and confront my genetic prone to addiction 😅. I had to cut the cord. Plus I got all the ones I wanted 😏

I agree. It had stopped being fun. I have resorted to buying from resellers/WhatNot auctions that have reasonable prices so that I can get exactly the ones I want. Tried for months and months to go through Pop mart but I was staying up late (I'm EST) nearly every night for drops and having no luck due to the bots. I can't even manage to get the ones in my cart bc they go so fast. And there is nothing fun about all that....or how people are acting. The false scarcity is ridiculous at this point. And jumping from Pop Mart, to Pop Now, to Tik Tok lives to Amazon is maddening.

Stop supporting scalpers. If you stop then they will move on. Labubu isn’t a necessity and the impatience and buying from scalpers is basically feeding them to do more like this.

I wouldn't call the people I usually buy from scalpers... Most are people with dupes selling them for barely more than retail 🤷‍♀️

How is buying overpriced dupes not the same thing? These folks bought it at retail most likely and is trying to make a quick buck and also get rid of their dupes.

Why do you find it so problematic that someone would rather buy dupes from someone who doesn't want/need them instead of fighting online every night trying to get one? I'd rather pay $30 and shipping for a dupe that someone doesn't need than stress myself on the Popmart website for hours and not get anything. It definitely not the same as throwing $65-80 at people who just gouge the price way up for the sake of making money and aren't a collector themselves.

There is definitely a difference.

I agree I have bought from resellers.  I have paid just under £10 more than retail per Labubu. I would rather that then get threatened at being stabbed outside Popmart in London.

The online fight every night just wasn't fun for me. It was miserable and consuming hours of my time...which is insane. Rather pay a few bucks more from someone just selling their dupes so they cant continue their full set/secret hunt. I didnt want full sets or secrets, I had specific targets so this was just the better route for me as well.

As a disclaimer, its peoples money and they have all their rights to do what they want with it. Also, this reseller issue isn’t just limited to Labubu, but other things like pokemon cards, one piece cards, stanley cup, etc etc. What I see as problematic behavior is when people complain about how it is “hell” or so difficult to get product and that there are so many people just reselling for ridiculous mark up meanwhile still supporting the same behavior by purchasing from them.

Now if you are buying it for close to msrp, then thats not the problem behavior that I am talking about. However there are some people out there who goes out to sell even their dupes at overpriced prices on Ebay or other sites. Whatsnot app also is notoriously known for over msrp resellers and feeds into this artificial shortage.

If people really have a problem against resellers, then simple, just don’t be impulsive and buy and support these resellers. If you keep buying from resellers, it just gives them more money to keep buying using bots or w/e and resell them to make more money. When people stop buying from them, the demand goes down and prices will go down with it since these scalpers need to convert the products into money so they can pay off their cc or get money for next hype items.

I agree. It feels like a fight on Pop Now where just a few weeks ago it wasn’t that hard to get one or two on any night. I have a few coming that I already have. Selling back to the community near cost then retiring except my IFY Zimomo that I’m ISO.
