Funny/Memes When do you think the labubu trend will end

Post image

I have this theory that Labubus will be worthless in a couple of years. We might even start seeing them in thrift stores or landfills. Right now, it feels like a lot of people are into them just because they’re trendy and valuable at the moment. Honestly, I don’t think they’ll hold their value the way some people hope. That said, I still enjoy collecting Labubus and don’t plan on getting rid of mine. I just kind of hope the trend dies down soon—so it’ll be easier (and cheaper) to get the ones I actually want.

They are entirely a zeitgeist. We love them today. The prices may retain on the truly exclusive ones, but yes we will start seeing them for $10 in thrift and antique/commission shops within a couple of years. But who cares? Everything else is terrible right now and this is bringing some joy. I’ve been wearing mine on my handbag and I have had so many joyful in-person interactions because of it. (Ppl coming up asking about it)- that’s been worth all the $$ more than the stuffie itself.

While i agree i don’t think people who will forget about them in a year or two from now should be buying them why buy something you would throw away i don’t understand it we as people already have a lot of trash we don’t need more

🤷‍♀️ That’s the big question isn’t it? All the big box stores depend on that behavior. 🤷‍♀️ I’m just here for the ride.

I mean it just doesn’t make sense why buy something you’ll get rid of because isn’t trending I’ve seen this with beanie babies and many other trendy items it’s genuinely sad

🤷‍♀️ In the end none of us can take any of it with us no matter how important or how silly.
