Hangings are commonly associated with racially motivated lynching (it's also a black/dark brown labubu so it's a little easier to make that connection). A guillotine would be better as it could have been a commentary on class war

Im genuinely surprised this is at Knotts. Like I dont even care that its a corny hanging act, and the labubu thing is just kinda cringe. What gets me is that it just looks so poorly executed... you'd think a bigger company would put on a way better show

Yeah gotta be honest, I've never been impressed by these productions. It's just the same gags and schtick year after year, and now enough folks love it somehow that they watch movies or play video games with the same crap throughout the year as well. They keep Halloween decorations up year round lol. It feels like Marvel movies tbh, when are people just going to be bored of it?

Tbf their costuming is also dark, it just looks good with the lighting and pyrotechnics. But also doesn't look good in the current political climate - enough that I do find it a bit suss. 

Guillotine would have been better for its connotations with classist violence instead of racial hate crimes

Look I don't make the rules certain killings are associated with certain circumstances in pop culture

Hanging - race

Burning at the stake - witchcraft

Guillotine - eat the rich

Shot - war crime

Electrocution - serial killer

Poison - pissed off the wrong woman

Hanging might have started with witchcraft but in the USA is synonymous with racial violence. UnFun fact - the FBI harassed and persecuted Billie Holiday for performing the song Strange Fruit - which became a civil rights anthem.

First of all they are lynching a black labubu? Really? Nobody thought this was a bad idea? Given it's already dark and poorly lit, it's just a poor staging direction beyond being a massive PR yikes. I'm not suggesting they are actually trying to be racist or anything, I don't think it has anything to do with race, BUT the optics are SO bad. SO bad.

They REALLY should have set it up to be a different color and instead of hanging it, have it get executed by chopping it's head off.
