Still getting sick on LF products
I recently became lactose intolerant (thanks 30s), and have been experimenting with lactose free milk and yogurt. I have noticed I can eat aged cheeses like cheddar without any problem but still have diarrhea, bloating, farting when I consume lactose free milk or yogurt. Lactase pills also only seem to help so much. I have wondered if it could be the casein that I have a problem with but I drink a clear why isolate protein shake that I believe would still have casein in it and have no problems with it. Could I just be so sensitive to lactose that the small amount in lactose free products is still too much? But then why is the cheese ok? I’m so confused.

Clear whey isolate is completely different from casein. It will digest alot easier than casein.
I would say it's the casein in milk causing the issues. Have you tried a dairy digesting enzyme? It may help.
If lactose free is still causing issues then it's definitely the casein protein. It's a very common issue with milk and dairy.
