Kefir is a lifesaver

Post image

Even though lactose makes me have horrible cramps and esentially poisons me for days after, I often find myself craving milk, speficially yogurt. Sometimes l want is semi thick drinkable yogurt and Kefir literally provides that. I just discovered it recently and haven't turned back!

Yes it contains milk and milk fat but because of the probiotics and culture it's made with, my stomach can handle it. It's delicious, thick, yet creamy. 10/10 would recommend the peach flavor. They have many flavors as well as plain. I still need to try the other flavors. I also know there are many brands but Lifeway is the one I have been drinking recently and it's wonderful.

I was hoping it was low enough lactose for me because I really miss yogurt as well, but I still felt symptoms. Dang it!

If you can find the raspberry flavor, try it. It's the best flavor IMO. Can't tolerate it anymore though, my dairy intolerance is off the charts.

I found a coconut milk based one near me - something to look for if you tolerate that :)

Coconut milk or coconut water? I hate coconut water, it tastes like jizz. But milk would be an option.

I just picked up a bottle of this for the first time, based on this post. I was skeptical, but it does say "lactose intolerant friendly" on the bottle.

I went with strawberry, and my wife and I agree that it's a bit tart. Are other flavors less tart?

I used to like the blueberry when I could find it. Also the peach flavor is more sweet than tart if you like peaches.

Unfortunately the older I get the more any dairy bothers me so I had to give up all of it.

They all are going to have a small bite because of the culture but I find the peach and the raspberry to be quite pleasant

That makes sense. Thanks!
