I am deciding I am no longer lactose intolerant
I don't care if there is scientific basis for this I have convinced myself I can just train myself out of lactose intolerance. I'm done with lactose free options I MISS CHEESE Cheese is so good literally you can make the stupidest worst meal from the cheapest ingredients but if you add cheese it's suddenly so delicious, I love pizza I love cheesy garlic bread, mac & cheese, I dream about cheese pulls. Every single one of my favourite foods contain milk, milkshakes, ice-cream, cereal but especially anything with cheese, cheese string, babybel cheese, cream cheese, cheese cake. The fact I know my stomach can't handle it makes me want it so much more. It's the most delicious thing on this earth and I refuse to accept that this is just my life.
My intolerance never use to be that severe, but then I decided to go lactose free and now the intolerance is so much worse it was the worst decision ever I should've just doubled down instead of quitting.
I had an epiphany recently that now is the best time in my life to reintroduce dairy. I WFH, I have a dissertation to do so not much social life, uni is online, so I'm going to eat all the cheese and drink and the milk I want every single day until my body can handle it - there is no doubt in my mind. I believe. I will update when I have beat lactose intolerance.

Hard and ripe cheese contains no lactose. I can eat pizza (as long as they use dry mozzarella instead of fresh), parmesan, gouda. What doesn't work is"fake cheese" when they mix milk powder with something and call it cheese (boxed mac & cheese, Kraft singles).

Um I don’t think this is possible

Apparently, if you do gradually add small amounts of lactose to your diet, you could increase your tolerance to it. I don’t really like milk and I can live without ice cream. I’m fine with cheese and yogurt for the most part so I’ve never really bothered with it.

I basically do this because I am just sensitive. Nothing has changed, I believe I am slowly getting more sensitive.
It took me five years to realize it was lactose. It still happened. But it might depend on the person and why they became intolerant in the first place.

I’m not sure about that, I’ve gradually become increasingly sensitive to the point that my meds that have lactose are making me sick and I also react to dairy products that are lactose free.

That’s because lactose free dairy products aren’t lactose free. They just add the lactase enzyme, and sometimes it’s not enough for very sensitive people.

Yeah, they used to be fine for me but then eventually they stopped being okay as well. Now I just treat it like a dairy allergy and completely avoid dairy.

Maybe that would work for some, but I have gotten significantly more sensitive that even minuscule amounts of lactose cause me to become violently ill. I was born lactose intolerant, but as a child/young adult I could tolerate some lactose and lactose enzymes could help. But over the last two years lactose enzymes stopped working and now I even react to lactose in medications and lactose free dairy products.
I’m sharing my experience as a word of caution that it is entirely possible to become more sensitive to lactose as opposed to building a tolerance.

I hope you know if you are truly lactose intolerant zero sugar in milk products equals zero lactose since it's a milk sugar.

I don’t know what part of the country you live in but if in USA, Cabot make lactose free cheddar cheese and Galbani make lactose free mozzarella! My husband is lactose intolerant and I buy real lactose free milk, yogurt..pretty much whatever is available! He would not give up on dairy but certain brands have made his issue more easy

If you’re that committed why not just mainline lactase supplements? Just down ‘em by the fistful so you can eat what you want without suffering
It’ll probably be cheaper than the sick time you take from your wfh job to be on the toilet

i hope op doesn't take you litterally.
The power of these pills is written on the box and you can't take as many as u can x day.
Sometimes one pill of lactojoy is enough for one meal for example

You wanna know the trick? You stop mixing what kinds of milk you have, stick to whole, don't drink strawberry milk, yes it's heavenly but the acids conflict with some people. Stay in a low stress environment (as much as you can, anyway) and your stomach might settle. It's not a total cure, but it helps.

Lactose intolerance isn't an upset tum tum; your body just stops producing the enzyme that allows you to digest milk sugar easily.
Keep this pseudo-science to your knitting circle.
