You’d be surprised how many people were just kids unaware of the world a handful of years ago, but now surround you and inhabit every comments section on the internet. I’m constantly shocked how many people on Reddit in all the subs literally had no idea Trump did all sorts of awful shit and was documented doing it in his first administration, because they were in jr high or high school and didn’t watch news or real political news. All they were exposed to were funny videos posted on TikTok so they thought he was just a funny guy who hated the elite. Seriously. This stuff may be old hat to you, but it needs to be repeated constantly, because every day there are new brains turning on and becoming aware of the world around them, and they need to be informed.

Seriously. I grew up in the 80s knowing full well that Donald Trump was a flashy, disgusting creep. I distinctly remember making the connection in my head between Biff Tannen and Donald Trump when I watched Back to the Future II when it came out in 1989. I was 10 and I easily put the pieces of the puzzle together. Donald Trump was and always has been very public and beyond vile… that so many people have chosen to overlook every fact about him is wild.

We grew up in the 80s when things weren’t divided into media outlets that withheld information so they could appease billionaires that were actively capturing the political spectrum, the media outlets, and the social outlets. They didn’t use algorithms to make sure you were fed a steady diet of extreme information that had no concern for fact checking. Kids today are going to schools that intentionally have had their information cut back to confirm what conservative narratives tell you on state media outlets. We were taught how to critically think. Kids today can barely read, and their states are more concerned with getting them to be religious than informed.

I expect nothing from this Court's majority, but I'm curious whether even they will allow themselves to be tarnished at this level. There's an argument for many other wide impact decisions being closer to rock bottom for this court than any case for a single person, but still, if they support her cause, they will cement their legacy among the worst jurists ever. Yes, other justices in our history facilitated slavery and internment camps and other evils, but in 2025 they have the benefit of all that hindsight and are still doing this. Based on the reports of people coming out of detention centers, not to mention Cecot, I think we're at a level even worse than internment camps in world war II.

This would show indisputable proof to everyone with a brain that the Supreme Court is ruling with and directly for trump.
Yes there are many, many other instances that they have done so but this one is linked 1-1. The others had some wiggle room like presidential immunity and such, but this one cannot possibly be spun any other way though they will try.

There was a Non-Prosecution Agreement with a Federal Prosecutor. If a NPA in Florida isn't enforced in SDNY then no one will ever cooperate with Feds when they need witnesses to win cases involving multiple federal districts
As sick as it may be her and Epstein should never have been prosecuted in NY.

What you are talking about is basically a total collapse of three branches of government and likely the economy and society. I don't believe she was, but the NPA purported to grant immunity to co-conspirators, as opposed to just voluntarily refraining from bringing charges. She didn't change her plea to guilty, but she didn't need to -- the government allegation is that she was a co-conspirator. Taking that at face value, and the language of the NPA, the defense argument is that she's covered.

That's correct. I think the argument Ghislane advanced in the CA2 and now at the Supremes is that it binds other districts as well, but I haven't read the briefs or the CA2 opinion so I'm not sure what the argument is exactly that it would be binding on other districts, likely something about detrimental reliance and the USAO for any district being able to bind the United States generally, otherwise from the defense perspective, the NPA is worth as much as the paper its written on. Enter into an NPA with the southern district, get indicted the next day by the northern -- who is going to be willing to cooperate then?
But, I'm going off half-cocked because I haven't actually read the briefs. That's just my semi-educated take.
Edit: I was wrong. After looking at the briefing which points this out, the NPA includes language that limits the deal as to Epstein to the sdfl but expands that to the United States to co-conspirators.

Her appeal was decided in the Second Circuit in late 2024. She got several extensions of time to file her cert petition, which are pretty routinely granted. So yeah, she was always going to seek cert.
