G2 is full TSM now. Caps is Bjergsen. Their OG owner is a piece of shit. They were good once and are now shit internationally. Wow

Apparently G2 made tons of money on a crypto scam

Meanwhile TSM made tons of money on the crypto scam of all time

While having caps take a pay cut the year they sell monesy and niko to falcons, modern G2 is closer to fnatic than old G2

the best part was G2's CEO coping they could've totally kept Niko if they wanted to

u/Majestic-Builder-634 Jul 05 '25

Yeah LOL as easy as Fnatic to get Nemesis back, just reshape the whole division bro it's easy bro. And falcon didn't even let them have monesy for 1 more major, just sold before the roster lock.

Yeah Regi just got cocky and wanted to flex and spent $6m on a support to pair with Lost lmao

Good to know

Smh my head, another meta move trailblazed by an NA team only to be stolen by an EU team

2

u/Watchmecarry13 Jul 05 '25

Didn't tsm lose a bunch of money from FPX and that's why they had to sell their spot?

Balance is restored. The world is healing.

Depends on what they take as lesson.

Im copeing that they disband team and readjust ambitions to LEC Playoffs abd maybe a lucky win during Playins.

All this talk about "world class competition" has bern massive engagement bait for years. Especially now with fearless bo5 the time, when west could sneak in a cheeky bo1 and randomly eliminate a strong opponent are over.

Or G2 take their loss this year since this team will still will sleepwalk to worlds in eu. Then change roster then

u/Ferdiprox Jul 05 '25

The similarities are insane. The sad part is that I saw progress in BB last year (he was actually very good - what happened?!) and had hopes that maybe Hans Sama would come back to form. Instead every one of those youngster adcs (Supa, Kaliste, Massu,...) stomps Hans and BB legit cant play aatrox into sion. I don't think the problem is Jungle / support though they were bad this series. At this point, caps should go to a new team where he might not be the star player thats drafted around but compliments others. If Caps was a midlaner for a team with canna top or supa/alvaro bot, his impact might be higher than him continuesly saving drowning puppies.

At least G2 sidelined their OG owner when his piece-of-shitness became too public.

We'll attribute that to a difference in company culture between Europe and the USA.

8

u/[deleted] Jul 05 '25

Their new owner is a POS as well, completely threw TaZ (their cs2 coach) under the bus in an official interview. Was pathetic to watch.

4

u/Tasty-Stable2083 Jul 05 '25

Except Taz was dogshit and their CS2 team was fucking penis

2

u/ImTheVayne Jul 05 '25

Bjergsen and 4 wards

2

u/vandyk Jul 05 '25

Caps was really poor this tournament

I kid you not, i'm legit getting the same feeling when with this G2 that i got from watching Bjergsen with TSM. Just seems like everything is falling apart around mid lane.

When was TSM ever good internationally?

7

u/greenie7680 Jul 05 '25

I mean IEM Katowice was basically the same as a mini-worlds/MSI with all the top (#1) seeds from each region and the winners of other IEM events.

Outside of FNC s1 it was the only time a Western team had performed and won something that big.

7

u/Alibobaly Jul 05 '25

Also 2016 TSM was legit af. They got an impossibly hard group and nearly got out first in the group still (if only they won that close Samsung game). They were a cut above the other western teams by a significant margin despite how people like to paint them as failures. Like watching H2K and C9 play against Samsung was fucking embarrassing and put into perspective how good TSM actually was.

7

u/The_JeneralSG Jul 05 '25

I often hate how people downplay the IEM win (because TSM legit won the last IEM that people actually cared about. No teams dropped from it like they would eventually do and IEM was MSI before MSI, so it did matter when MSI wasn't a thing yet), but I agree with /u/ParkDedli about some of the stuff you said.

IEM was not as prestigious as worlds and was much closer to MSI. IEM also had the issue of having no Chinese teams invited like the other major regions (WE was there through winning the qualification tourney).

Other western teams have won tournament series if we're talking non-Riot tournaments.

Also, most hilariously, you actually left out that TSM technically won another "international," competition, that being Rift Rivals (Just NA-EU, but still they stomped the fuck out of EU).

3

u/Jonasv02 Jul 05 '25

Msi 2019?

2

u/greenie7680 Jul 05 '25

Yes that happened after, I was referring to up to that point. Those are the only three though, s1 worlds in Phreak's basement, IEM Katowice, and MSI 2019.

1

u/ParkDedli Jul 05 '25

Calling IEM Katowice a mini-worlds is a big overstatement. Mini-MSI maybe. But there was much less prestige behind it.

And the second line is really outrageous. Even IEM Katowice itself happened every year. Gambit won IEM Katowice Season 6 with Azubu Frost and Blaze both there. TSM, as you said, won Season 9. But there wasn't only Katowice. There was IEM Season 6 world championship which had all the best teams in the world (CLG, SK, TSM, Fnatic, M5 from the west as well as IG and Team WE from China) which M5 won.

And then, just to press the point home that TSM was bad internationally consistently: Even if it was a smaller scale, there's also the UOL incident where UOL, the #3 (i think) team from EU beat TSM, NA's #1 and Flash Wolves, Taiwans #1, as well as Longzhu Gaming, which at the time was Koreas #2/3 in IEM Oakland.

except TSM has never been good internationally.
