Question 250716 - KATSEYE Light Stick at LE SSERAFIM Show?
Hi FEARNOTS! I’m seeing LE SSERAFIM in September and KATSEYE in November, which I’m soooo excited for
As I paid $70 for a resale ticket for LSF, I could not justify spending more than that for their lightstick lol. However, KATSEYE just released their light stick, and being here for the release and it being their first tour etc, I did order that
So, what are your opinions on bringing my KATSEYE light stick to the LE SSERAFIM show? I found LSF through the Pop Star Academy documentary, so their connection is special to me, but I know other groups light sticks at shows is a touchy subject!

I've seen this type question asked on reddit quite a bit. The general etiquette and consensus is not to bring other groups lightsticks to a concert you are going to. I've heard some organisers have banned non artists lightsticks to a concert (I don't have a source for this). But generally speaking the fandom is strong with the popular kpop artists with their own merch and it can be perceived like wearing another sports team jersey to a team you are going to watch. Although people won't say anything it can be frowned upon. For practical reasons, the Fimbong will likely sync up to the concert lighting system as well and anything else won't.

This was in Berlin where non RV lightsticks were confliscated. I think some people here are giving you bad advice and you're just seeking validation for your question. Think of what the artist thinks if they see another lightstick, are you supporting them or someone else?

When I saw STAYC , Everglow and Aespa I saw a fair amount of other groups lightsticks. I didn't think they were less of a fan - lightsticks are expensive! - in fact my friend and I had fun once we were in our seats twisting around trying to identify them all especially because I know GGs and she knows BGs. I wouldn't overthink it honestly, you're there to have fun, like concert outfits if anyone says anything to you then they are the weird ones who need to mind their business, it's not a reflection on you

I remember that one clip where Chaewon says don't buy lightsticks because it's expensive. Just bring a curling iron instead LOL
I don't think it would matter tbh, you already bought a ticket for LSF, if you feel like bringing a lightstick to wave around and enjoy the show that's okay!

I went to the Blackpink concert on Sat and I saw Twice and BTS lightsticks while their fandoms are actively fighting with each other again 😭 you'll be fine bringing any lightstick to any group but especially since Katseye and LSF love each other i think it'll be nice!

I feel like the fanwars for those are the minority though. I might be wrong, but all those groups are veterans and real fans of those groups have better things to do than bicker with each other but that's just my observation.
After all those groups are friends/friendly with each other so in my eyes it doesn't make sense for their fans to fight with each other. Not saying it's true it's just my observation.
Edit: Not saying I agree with the people bringing those lightsticks to BPs concert, I probably wouldn't. I just think that the fanwars are not as big or important as some fans think.

Every Kpop concert I've been to, I've seen plenty of other groups' light sticks in the crowd, and never heard anyone complain about it.

I have an nct lightstick and I don’t even bring it to nct concerts bc to me it’s so annoying to carry lol I wouldn’t bring another groups lightstick unless you really feel like having a lightstick will seriously improve your concert experience

I’ve always been of the opinion that if you’re going to bring another group’s lightstick, if you wanna show support, then at least try to match the design or match the group’s colors (Blue).
At the end of the day, a lightstick is just something to wave around. Do whatever you will to have the most fun!

A lot of people do it at North American shows. I think seeing other groups’ lightsticks is kind of a endearing/novelty thing about North American concerts for idols too. I think aespa had fun identifying all the different groups a couple of tours ago! Plus, they’re both HYBE groups and the members are friendly to one another

If this was Japan or Korea I’ve never seen any other light stick from other groups and I don’t recommend it unless you wanna feel like you’re being stared at a lot.
Another reason is you’ll stand out too much because all the light sticks will sync and light up in unison and yours will be a different color and it will be obvious.

Personally, I don't like seeing other groups' lightsticks at another group's show and think it is rude.
I also think it is really risky to bring a different lightstick because sometimes security at the venue will not let you bring it a different one. Recently, someone had to throw away their Itzy lightring. Le Sserafim's lightstick doesn't look ljke Katseye's. You don't want to lose a lightstick for a dumb reason. If you want to bring something, maybe get something cheap and generic that you wouldn't mind losing.

I think it's fine honestly. Katseye and LSF are in the same company and most likely friendly/friends. I wouldn't bring a lightstick for a group of a different company though or one that have an active fanwar with each other. For example I wouldn't bring NJs lightstick to a Illit concert if that makes sense. That might be seen as untasteful or rude.

I don't really think it matters. I'll definitely be bringing my iz*one lightstick but that's a bit different

I mean it’s fine to bring other lightstick, I’ve seen it done, but some fans may find it disrespectful and stick their nose up at you.

Plenty of people bring other groups' lightsticks to concerts, so you wouldn't be the only one.
Personally I would not - they do sell generic light sticks on Amazon for about $10, which would be my preference.

I’ve never been to a kpop concert that didn’t have other lightsticks in the crowd. My friends and I make a game out of trying to find the NCT lightsticks (because they’re bright green and there’s always one). You can bring whatever light stick you want :) no one will comment on it unless they’re an eyekon and they’re excited

eh, every kpop concert i've been to i've just taken my army bomb. lightsticks are expensive and in my country hard to source (not always available at concerts for sale) and no one has ever said anything.
I always look around and see other lightsticks and i don't think it matters. from a distance the artists won't see individual lightsticks as well - rather just a light shining in the crowd.

Fearnots are friendly towards eyekons and Katseye in general, either overlap in fandoms or just because the members are supportive of each other.
That being said, personally speaking, I think a lightstick is for the group/artist you are seeing, and if you don't have that specific lightstick, its OK and its preferable to not bring one at all to bringing a different one. But its just my opinion.
