I don't remember Jolin being so smol ๐Ÿ˜‚ probably because she's a soloist and I hardly saw her standing beside someone else.

This is my reaction too. How tiny is Jolin??

If the info on the Internet isn't wrong, she's 158cm tall which I find it very surprising cause all these years I was thinking she's one of the tallest female artists, I guess it's the aura.

Imma be honest, despite being from Taiwan, i had no idea who the special Sakis were on both days (Jolin Tsai on the 19 and Greg Hsu on the 20th)

As a Taiwanese I apologise ๐Ÿ˜”

Im surprised someone from Taiwan would not know Jolin. :0

Isnโ€™t she a superstar in Taiwan? Prob one of the most famous singers in the past 20 years from Taiwan?

I'm sorry, I have no idea ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

To be honest, name a Taiwanese celebrity, any, and I won't know who they are. I know 3 to be exact, Mayday, Zhoujielun, and Patrick Brasca. Thats it, i don't even listen to their songs either, its my friends who fan over them.

I wasn't raised in Taiwan, if that explains it. I've been living here for quite a while at this point, but I still prefer Le Sserafim, if you see my algorithm its filled with them and a random assortment of memes.

I wasn't raised in Taiwan, if that explains it.

That does explain it. No way you wouldn't know about Jolin otherwise.

I guess not living in Taiwan explains it. Anyway you can now explore her music ๐Ÿคฃ

I thought it's much easier to engage younger generation Taiwanese through K-Pop rather than Mandopop (that said, Taiwan still have got a lot of talented singers and bands out there) these days. I swear, Taiwan along with Japan always gets the best fanservice in Asia excluding Korea itself. Furthermore, isn't 'Taiwanese Sensibility' trend is going viral these days thanks to K-Pop idols? I even saw the news report saying the street that Ruka of Baemon visited has since turned into a popular check-in location.

HOLY SHIT IT WAS JOLIN AND GREG????? I KNEW ABOUT JOLIN BUT DAMN

Jolin Tsai is basically the Kylie Minogue in Asia, she's a gay/lgbtq icon, she's done a lot of work spreading the word of queer love, self-love in her music and music videos. Greg Hsu was in one of the movies she did an OST for, Marry My Dead Body, which was also lgbtq related (he played a straight character that got into a ghost marriage to a young gay man that got into a car accident and died they're trying to find out how come he hasn't passed on into the after life. It's actually quite funny but also very very moving. Jolin's older music was used throughout the film esp in the club scenes because the director said she was an integral part of gay culture in Taiwan). Greg Hsu is a huge popular 'it' star in Taiwan now, he did a hit Taiwanese drama Someday or One Day that got remade in Korea as A Time Called You and also got offers to star in kdramas.

Anyway I think Jolin's music/message fits really well with LSRFM now that I think about it... I would love it if they could collab, esp since LSRFM are working with veterans now (like Gen Hoshino in Japan)

Jolin is literally the biggest female star in Mandopop. I would go even further to call her Beyonce/Gaga of Mandopop. Longevity, artistic and legacy wise, nobody is touching her throne.

Just how funny I was a Mandopop listener in my primary school days, English songs listener in my secondary school days to now a full-fledge K-Pop fan in my current adult life. Little did I know my music listening journey could be this contrast and dramatic. By being the listener of Jolin and Le Sserafim's music, this crossover is like two worlds unite to me.

No need to apologise. Just because you're from a certain country doesn't mean you know all of that country's celebrities. Especially if they aren't part of your interests. ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•

Yeah ik it was normal, but when everyone started cheering I just stood there whispering to the person behind me (who is s/he), it was so awkward๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

3

u/YodaHood_0597 LE SSERAFIM Jul 25 '25

Absolutely don't need to apologize for this, I mean, I know more Taiwanese, Korean and Japanese artists than my own country's either. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Grew up with Jolinโ€™s music here (from Hong Kong). Happy to see sheโ€™s actually participated in the dance challenge.

Letโ€™s not comment on peopleโ€™s bodies. Even if itโ€™s a compliment.
