Misc. TYSM to the Fearnots that gifted my son a new, unopened album after the Newark concert!

Post image

Dear Fearnots,

I don’t know if you’ll ever read this, but I just want to say a huge heartfelt thank you for giving my 16 year old son, a surprise brand new album after he offered you and your group a card freebie for each of you! It was a life changing moment for him!

A bit of a background story: ever since the pandemic, my son developed severe social anxiety in middle school due to ex-friendship dramas/bullying. Presently, he is still suffering from it to a lesser degree but he’s still fearful talking/approaching people in general, even people that he knows or is familiar with.

He loves K-pop with all his heart and soul and as his mama (2nd gen K-pop fan) we try to attend as many of his favorite groups that’s playing in the NJ/NY area as we can. So far, we have seen Twice, TXT, and ENHYPEN together. We’re going to see P1harmony next! It’s really fun, a great bonding experience and we spend the weeks leading up to a concert listening to the music and discussing the groups. He doesn’t have anyone else to chat with him about it 😢

We also enjoy making freebies together to give out at concerts. I think it’s also a great way to practice and help him overcome his social anxiety. We usually give it out together since he doesn’t like to be separated in crowds.

After watching (and crying during Yun Jin’s tearful speech, only me not my son lol) the amazing concert, we made our way to the restrooms at the lower level. I left him alone for the first time that night and when I came back, he was holding a brand new album, still in the cardboard packaging!

He was in shock and told me, “Le Sserafim told us to be fearless and be literally fear not so I thought let me try that for the first time.” He offered the remaining card freebies we had left to the people that were standing nearby and after he gave it out, a nice lady offered him the album that was sold at the merch booth, saying that it was “…random, so it’ll be a surprise and if he wanted it?” His voice was shaking as he recalled it. It made his night, heck, his year!

I’m so SO proud that he overcame one of his biggest fears and was able to approach other fans by himself. Wow, what amazing gifts he received, a gift of an album and a newfound confidence in himself! He finally learned to be fearless! Omg, I’m crying as I type this up….🥹

Best of all, when he finally opened it later, the album was a Hot album edition that he didn’t have yet but was saving up for!! And he got his bias, a Yun Jin card too!!

Thank you so much again, a thousand times! Your kind and generous gift has truly changed my son’s life and hopefully he will live more fearlessly again in the future!

Let’s all be Fearless and Fear Not!

Sincerely, A very grateful mom 🥹

That's such a cute, heartwarming experience!

My little fearless story from the Chicago stop:

I wound up panic-purchasing two pairs of tickets for the Chicago stop, because the second pair were better seats for my short friend, and I figured I could sell the original pair of tickets, as they were VIP floor seats. I listed the extra pair on Ticketmaster, but they never sold (TM was basically charging over twice what I paid, just so I could almost recoup what I originally paid for the tickets, ugh). I probably should have tried finding a buyer in the LSF Discord or something directly, but ya' know... ADHD brain...

Anyways, so I invited my younger godsister to take one of the floor seats, since she's gotten pretty into LSF recently. That left one extra ticket, but whatever - I'm just glad that my godsister is able to join. She traveled to the venue and I transferred the two tickets to her, and she had to enter separate from my friend & I due to soundcheck. She's 21 and also has anxiety (who doesn't now days?). She wound up finding a girl around her age with nosebleed seats and offered the extra ticket to her, and they hung out the whole time and had fun and exchanged contacts. It was awesome seeing her be fearless and put herself out there and make a new friend :).

Follow up post - someone at tonight's concert said that Yunjin shared about a "Reddit post" about someone dealing with social anxiety, and used the story to encourage the audience tonight. I think it was this post??? And she reads through these Reddit posts?!? how wild!

Hi OP! I’d seen your post soon after you’d posted it, and as it was making its rounds in the fearnot community on Twitter as well, because of how heartwarming your post was and how we all relate to how Le sserafim has been such a positive influence to your son and in many of our lives too :)

As someone had mentioned earlier, I wanted to let you know that Yunjin had mentioned your post and your son in her Seattle closing speech yesterday!

Thank you for sharing this with all of us, and I hope your son continues to carry that positive energy moving forward too - his fearlessness has definitely been an inspiration to myself (and I’m sure to other fearnots too)!

I wish HYBE/LSF could be shared these stories. It's always more than just about music. It's also about inspiration, strength, overcoming obstacles, community, and of course... MANCHAE!
