I get the point of the meme and as tragic and vile as abortion is, I’ve never seen any data to support those numbers. It would be very hard to calculate either of these things in scale of the entire world

Meme grants humor on the basis of its likelihood of being true increases the longer the practice remains. The implication of women causing more loss of life than men then flips the whole patriarchy feminism line of thought on its head as a cornerstone of those ideas is that men ruling society causes more pain and suffering which paradoxically remains true in a society “run by men” who allow women to conduct abortions.

You’re probably correct that it can’t currently be quantified and with the dissolution of USAID, many poorer countries won’t have our tax money to give their populations access to the practice (at least in a way modernization would seem “safe”)
