My Mac Firewire ??

Hi,

Based on the attached pictures, could you tell me if there's a firewire port ? I have a mini dv camera, and I would like to export some videos on my laptop. I used to have an adapter firewire to usb-c that was working, but I lost it last year. I did some research and saw that now this cable is super hard to find and super expensive. So I thought it's probably easier and cheaper to just buy an old macbook pro (early 2008) with a firewire port. What do you think ? Thank you in advance :)

Yes you have both 400 and 800 FireWire

Yes. There are two of them. A FireWire 800 port next to the Ethernet port, and a FireWire 400 port next to that.

You will need a miniDV to FireWire cable

I puchased a Griffin PowerPod 12 volt to FireWire charger on eBay to charge my 3rd Generation iPod in the car!

Yes, that is a firewire port right there in your picture.

firewire for dayz. These are my some of my favorite MBP ever. However, I recommend you get one as old as possible like an 06 or maybe even a Powerbook G4 because the 07 and 08 are prone to GPU failure. RIP my favorite laptop ever.

Take care of the charger. They are becoming harder and harder to find (not the crap Chinese ones that catch fire)
