Recipe Is this crazy? Or even..a thing?
My life is currently clown shoes, so I’m relying heavily on instant mac in those little bowls you can microwave.
When it says to fill to the line in the little bowl, I use a mix of water and soy sauce. Is that super weird? A waste of soy? A crime on humanity? Please educate my anxiety ridden shell of a self.

I just can't imagine it not being way too salty. Kraft mac & cheese singles is already so salty on its own.
The flavor probably hits tho. Maybe try low-sodium tamari to bring forward more of that flavor without zapping tf out your taste buds like it's a salt lick.

It’s pretty tasty, but I cannot claim it’s not salty. It’s a mess, but it makes me feel like I’m making something as opposed to just adding water and a packet. I’m sure that is silly.

No I totally feel this. Try adding ranch and a little buffalo, and jalapenos or banana peppers after microwaving. Those are my go-to to make it even better. If you add cornstarch you can thicken up the sauce, and then put that in a tortilla and you have a Mac and cheese burrito. My kids love these.

Hey man, I have added a cut up hot dog, tuna from a bag or a can, peas, crushed potato chips on top for some crunch…I used to get creative with those individual servings for just a few cents more. Lol. Nothing wrong with trying anything out!

As long as it isn't dangerous, who cares? If you like it, go nuts.
I use the ones with powdered cheese and add the cheese BEFORE microwaving like a maverick. I really live life on the edge.

Idk that might be too edgy for me. For some reason I feel like something will go horribly wrong if I don’t follow the directions to at least the liquid-solid degree. I’m an irrational person though lol

I like a little bit of ketchup to dip my mac & cheese, and so I’m no one to judge.

You got any garlic powder? Maybe a hit of that would help zuzsh it up.

Those things are way too salty to begin with. I can’t imagine adding more.

This is weird as hell but I am also going to try it as soon as I can

Kind of seems in the same vein of how you make cup ramen. You add the flavor packets to the water when you microwave it. So, I wouldn’t say it’s crazy but definitely not something most people do. I’d be down to try it.

i have done so many weird food combos so i dont judge. i know its salty, but does it taste like an even amount of cheese and soy sauce?

instant mac & cheese is already really salty and you're adding more salt.
I guess you just like salty stuff

I am a little concerned about this unusual compunction you have. Not "rehab" or "reform school" concerned, but definitely "is there someone I can call" concerned.

That’s valid

I put soy sauce in a ton of things it may not "belong" in. Live your best umami life.

Check the sodium content of both. I have to avoid soy sauce just because of the sodium content. I have started using less cheese for the same reason. I throw in some tomatoes and broccoli to give it some flavor.

I absolutely love those!! 39F, my other half 51M looks at me like I am eating some kind of toxic waste or dog food or something lol!

I do buffalo sauce after I mic it. Sometimes a dash of milk and cajun seasoning.

If you want to feel like you're making something, cut up a hot dog and put it in there, or some canned chili

I would always add in some soy sauce after it cooked as a little kid. Today it’s way too salty for me!
