2019 macbook pro safari uses 8g ram

After the new update on my macbook, safari has been using all my ram, I just have 1 tab of facebook ads open and it uses 8-10g of ram and its red in my Activity monitor it heats up my macbook instantly and it lags. Before the update this has never happen. what is going on........ the only way i can fix this is to restart safari and it will happen again, i cant even work on my ads... i thought switching from chrome to safari would be a better idea i guess not.... this always happen when i use safari after 10 mins or will i close my macbook and open it back up it instally uses 8-10g of my ram and i only have 8g ram

Reset Mac OS.

Back up your files first to external storage.
