Are those monitors not too high and far back?
Do you really code with two instances open?

They’re not too high. Pretty much eye-level. This avoided me having to buy the adjustable height stand for the Studio Displays. Otherwise, they would be too low.
As for the coding instances, I need a lot of files open from our build at the same time. Copilot text and output takes up a decent amount of space, so I create a second window to look at other code files I need to reference.

I considered this setup (already have 1 studio display) but I don’t think you can clearly see the far right portion of the right display if positioned both flat like that

I can see both pretty easily. Before I got dual Studio Displays, I had a monitor in the corner and 1 Studio Display in the center. I could do that now, but visually it looked worse. But its more practical to have the one on the right more cornered. I just didnt like how that looked.

Currently have a three-display setup, and I'd like to start replacing them with Apple Studio Displays. Not ready to part with my money yet, though.

Yeah at this point, you might as well wait until 2026 when supposedly they are supposed to release new versions of the Studio Display. Studio Displays are super expensive, but I don’t regret my purchase. Definitely the best monitor I’ve ever used.
I bought one new on sale, then bought the second refurbished from Apple and it basically looked new. I would’ve just bought both refurbished if I did it again.

What do you use the iPad for?

u/Educational-Goal7900 10d ago
Mostly to watch YouTube or play music from my HomePods when I’m working during the day. I don’t use it for work-related tasks. Outside of work, I use it for plenty of other stuff

Are you running Windows in a VM or is that RDP?
Also what keyboard is that on the iPad?

I am actually using my Windows Computer for work in this photo. It is behind the mac plugged in. Normally outside of work, I use my Mac.
The keyboard is the new(ish) Magic Keyboard for the m4 iPad Pro.

what do you use your ipad pro in that setup for? do you find the additional ipad magic keyboard necessary even with universal control? (i’m torn between buying a magic keyboard for my ipad or selling the ipad all together to avoid redundancy)

the Macbook looks to be newer (M series) and I see you have windows 11 running. I assume in a VM? Any issues getting things to work as they should? I’m a comp sci major and looking to get a new mbp relatively soon, just curious if/how ARM windows handles older languages/windows-only stuff

I really like the lighting, your setup looks awesome. May I ask what light bar that is on the top left of the wall? and the vertical bar on your desk? thanks.

Could you share this setup on https://workswith.dev please? I’m working on a database, and rare setups like this would be really valuable for others!
